Anthony Anderson Wiki Biography
Anthony Anderson was born on 15 August 1970, in Los Angeles, California USA, apparently of varied West African descent, and is a comedian, actor, voice actor, as well as a television producer, probably best known for starring in “All About the Andersons”, his own sitcom in 2003-04.
So just how rich is Anthony Anderson? According to sources, Anthony Anderson’s net worth is estimated to be $20 million, as of mid-2017. Undoubtedly, the majority of Anthony Anderson’s net worth comes from his active acting career.
Anthony Anderson attended Hollywood High School, and graduated from Howard University where he trained alongside such actors as Ruby Dee and Avery Brooks. Anthony Anderson made his first attempt at comedy at The Comedy Act Theatre, where he received a lot of negative feedback from the audience and was even booed off the stage before he could even begin his act. Such an initial reception made it more difficult for Anderson to pursue his dream, however, consoled by his friend Guy Torry, Anderson continued to perform on stage, and soon appeared on television screens too. Anderson’s first major television role was in the teen sitcom “Hang Times” with Daniella Deustcher, Michael Sullivan and David Hanson as his co-stars. Around the same time, Anthony was featured in small roles in such television series as “NYPD Blue”, “Ally McBeal”, as well as “In the House”. Anthony then made an appearance in the sitcom called “The Bernie Mac Show” with Bernie Mac and Kellita Smith, in which he starred as a parent of one of the characters in the last, fifth season of the show. Anderson’s net worth, as well as public recognition began to rise at the time.
In 2003, Anderson launched his own television series called “All About the Andersons” portraying a single father struggling to make ends meet. Unfortunately, the show was commercially unsuccessful and was cancelled in 2004 after only one season. Anderson then went on to star in a crime drama show called “Law & Order” created by Dick Wolf.
Anthony Anderson is perhaps mostly known for his comedic appearances in a variety of popular movies. Some of his more notable roles have been in such movies as “My Baby’s Daddy” with Eddie Griffin, “Agent Cody Banks 2: Destination London” with Frankie Muniz, “Kangaroo Jack” co-starring with Jerry O’Connell, as well as “Scream 4” with a cast of David Arquette, Courteney Cox and Emma Roberts. Anderson’s most recent movie role is in a 2013 sports comedy film with Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone called “Grudge Match”, as well as a lead role in an upcoming television series entitled “Black-ish”. All contributed to his net worth.
Anthony Anderson is a director as well; in 2009, he directed a short film that featured Jeremy Sisto who was his co-star in “Law & Order”.
Anthony Anderson has been married to Alvina Anderson since 1995, with whom he has two children, but current rumours are that they have filed for divorce. Anthony is also a strong supporter of diabetes type2 research, as one of his children is a sufferer – his contributions include the $250,000 he won on “Who Wants To Be a Millionaire” in 2011.

Anthony Anderson Quotes
- You take the quote from Samuel L. Jackson about how he’ll never work with a rapper, and I can understand where he’s coming from because he says rappers can’t act.
- Tom Arnold and I, we have a huge firefight scene on top of a German tank. I get to shoot 50 caliber rounds. We shoot a helicopter out of the sky. That’s the only fight I’m in.
- If they respect the craft and what we’re doing and they bring something to the table and they work hard, I don’t care what you do as your side job or as your day job.
- I’ve gotten my butt kicked by the best. Jet Li beat me up the best, but Steven Segal can still kick a good butt. It’s a different kind of kicking, though.
- Glenn Close is a living icon. You look at the work, and I think it’s wild, because she thinks some of her best work was in Dangerous Liaisons (1988) and that’s what I believe, as well.
- It’s a remake of a film called Infernal Affairs. It’s a Hong Kong film, and if we come anywhere close to what they did in the original, we’re going to have a hot property on our hands, because Infernal Affairs is a great piece.
- Romeo Must Die (2000) was the first film that I did where I was able to just be free as an actor.
- They gave us the freedom just to play and have fun.
- You say you’re a comedian, you always have to be on guard.
- There isn’t a switch that I turn on. I’m an actor. This is what I do.
- Some of these guys… I’ve worked with Ice Cube, I think he’s an immensely talented rapper and actor.
- I went to the High School for Performing Arts, and to Howard University on a talent scholarship.
- My wife and I have always trusted each other, and I have to thank her strength.
- I’ve worked with some actors who can’t act.
- I provide a little comic relief.
- It’s just a matter of me opening up the page and whatever is written on the page, that’s what I’m here to do.
- I ain’t got nothing. I’ve got this watch, and these shoes, and that’s about it.
- I’m not a comedian. I’m an actor who just happens to be funny on occasion.
- My choices were never wrong.
- Comedy is second nature for me.
- If you respect the art and you have some talent about you, I’m on your team.
- Things are changing. I’ve been training since I was 9 years old to stretch my wings as an actor dramatically, but have never really been afforded the opportunity to show that.
- More oftentimes than not, you’re automatically guilty before innocent.
- You can say what you want to about a rapper in a movie, but look at what Ice Cube has done. Ice Cube has created more opportunities for other actors to get jobs in this business than some actors have.
- Everyone realized I was the innocent victim of a shakedown.
- It’s sort of an action flick. You can’t be that funny trying to steal diamonds.
- I realized my family was funny, because nobody ever wanted to leave our house.
- Leo (Leonardo DiCaprio) couldn’t deliver Mr. Martin Scorsese his Oscar with The Aviator (2004), but I will go on record to say I will do so with The Departed (2006).
- Be ready for when your time comes, you will have that window of opportunity, so seize the moment and capitalize on it.
- Set your heights more than what you see around you, see beyond.
- Independent films are where you really get to cut your teeth and have some fun and do the things that mainstream Hollywood doesn’t want to do.
- (in 2006, about The Departed (2006)] Working with [Martin Scorsese] is a dream come true and we’re just having a ball, Just how he commands a set . . . But we are staying true to the original film. We shot in New York for a couple of months, and then we’ve been in Boston the last three weeks, and then we’re coming back to New York through the first week of September. So it’s just a nice ride right now.
