Jonny Moseley Wiki Biography
Jonny Moseley was born on 27 August 1975, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and is best known as a freestyle skier and television presenter.
So just how rich is Jonny Moseley as of mid-2017? Authoritative sources estimate that Moseley’s net worth is as high as $5 million accumulated from his career in the sports industry and his job as a television host now spanning 25 ears. In addition to that, he is the narrator as well as appearing in several documentary films.
Jonny’s family moved to Tiburon, California when he was a boy, where he attended The Branson School in Ross. He was good at skiing from an early age, and thus he decided to take skiing lessons. In the following period he joined Squaw Valley Freestyle Ski Team and went on to win first Junior National title in Freestyle Skiing. In 1993 he finished his high school education, and was selected US Ski Team, but subsequently failed to qualify for 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway, but still had the strong will to pursue this goal in the future. Jonny enrolled into UC Davis, but his education was often affected by his training schedule. Having won two World Cup events, he secured a spot on the US team for the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan. He ended up winning a gold medal there, and then won the World Cup in Mogul Skiing the same year.
Jonny caught the attention of the media and gained recognition for his notable efforts, and was an important person to speak out for his fellow athletes at the International Skiing Federation, challenging the organization to change its policies and allow sportsmen to participate in professional events. Subsequently, he won the X Games, and having won the US Free-skiing Open in 2001, he got into the Olympic team once again. In December of the same year, ‘’Jonny Moseley Mad Trix’’, a skiing video game was released by 3DO. In 2002, Jonny competed at the Olympics, but finished in the fourth spot.
In addition to making money directly from the sport, Moseley makes money from selling his merchandise on his website. He has also appeared in commercials for McDonald’s and Sprint. Jonny was the host of ‘’The Challenge’’, an MTV reality television show focused on challenging the teams in sports competitions, and besides that, he was the host of ‘’ Master of Champions’’, alongside Steve Garvey and Oksana Baiul, an ABC reality show first broadcast in June 2006, but it wasn’t received well and ended after six episodes.
In 2008, Jonny was a narrator for Warren Miller’s ‘’Children of Winter’’, and in 2012, Moseley was the host of ‘’American Ninja Warrior’’ and remained in that position for a year. In 2013, he was a voice over in a cartoon entitled ‘’American Dad’’,then went on to make an appearance in ‘’McConkey’’, a 2013 sports documentary focused on the most successful people in that industry. During this time, Jonny had a lot on his plate, and eventually went on to star in ‘’The Jones and Moseley Show’’ alongside Dhani Jones. The duo presented the audience with the most exciting finishes and record breaking performances in various sports.
As of the more recent past, he appeared on ‘’Dog Days of Winter’’, a winter sports documentary released in 2015. Following on, he appeared in another documentary entitled ‘’On Thin Ice’’ in 2017.
In his personal life, Jonny has been married to Malia K. Rich since 2006 and the couple has a son, Jonathan. San Francisco mayor Willie Brown handed Moseley the key to the city, and declared ‘’Johnny Moseley Day’’. Despite dropping out of college in the remote past, he has recently graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a bachelor’s degree in American Studies.
