Have you ever wondered how much wealth this one-club athlete has accumulated so far? How rich Paul Scholes is? According to sources, it is estimated that the total of Paul Scholes’ net worth, as of mid-2017, revolves around the sum of $25 million, primarily acquired through his professional soccer playing career which was active between 1993 and 2013.

Paul was born to Marina and Stewart Scholes and, apart from English, is also of Irish ancestry. He grew up in Langley where he attended St. Mary’s RC Primary School, excelling at not only soccer, but cricket too. Later, he enrolled at the Cardinal Langley Roman Catholic High School, but which he abandoned in order to pursue his soccer career. In 1991, 16-year-old Paul joined Manchester United, and after three years turned pro, and began his soccer career as a United midfielder. He debuted in September 1994, appearing in a Football League Cup match in which he scored both goals in United’s win over Port Vale. All these ventures provided the basis for Paul Scholes’ net worth.

By the season 1998-99, Scholes had established himself as one of the team’s key players, massively helping Manchester United to record the treble – they won three titles in that season, Premier League, FA Cup as well as UEFA Champions League title. In the following years, Paul Scholes with Manchester United won another 10 Premier League titles, and also added two more FA Cup titles and another UEFA Champions League title. All these achievements helped Paul Scholes to add a significant sum to the total of his net worth.

In 1997, Scholes was selected for England’s national team, debuting in a friendly match against South Africa. In the course of the next several years, he played for the national squad participating in the 1998 World Cup, Euro 2000, 2002 World Cup as well as Euro 2004 after which he retired from national team, having played 66 international games and scored 14 goals. In 2011, Paul announced his retirement from professional soccer as well, but after spending one season as United’s assistance coach, he returned to play for another season, appearing in 33 games. Eventually, in May 2013, Scholes officially retired from his professional playing career, during which he appeared in 718 games in United’s jersey, scoring a total of 155 goals. All these engagements made a huge impact on Paul Scholes’ net worth.

Although retired, Scholes is still in the world of soccer – in 2014, alongside his fellow team colleagues including Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville, he became the co-owner of Salford City Football Club, while since 2015 he is serving as its manager in the sixth tier of English soccer pyramid, National League North. Besides all those mentioned above, Scholes has also been serving as ITV’s and BT Sport’s commentator for UEFA Champions League games, as well as The Independent’s columnist. It is certain that all these involvements have also made a contribution to Paul Scholes’ net worth.

When it comes to his personal life, Paul has been married since 1999 to Claire Froggatt, with whom he has welcomed a daughter and two sons. With his family, he resides in Grasscroft, Greater Manchester, England.

Paul Scholes Quotes

  • English players are not getting enough first-team time in the Premier League. We’re going backwards from 1990 and the era of Paul Gascoigne and that ‘conveyor belt of talent’. Simply, the Premier League is riddled with average foreign players. This is having such a detrimental effect on the first-team opportunities for young English talent, and our international results.
  • I fear England are going the way of the Republic of Ireland, Wales and Scotland.
