Michael George Holmgren Wiki Biography

Michael George Holmgren was born on the 15th June 1948, in San Francisco, California USA, and is an American Football trainer and former player. He was also the President of the Cleveland Browns in the National Football League (NFL), and has won three Super Bowls. Mike worked as a coach from 1971 to 2008.

How much is the net worth of Mike Holmgren? It has been estimated by authoritative sources that the overall size of his wealth is as much as $16 million, as of the data presented in 2017. NFL is the major source of Holmgren’s wealth.

To begin with, Holmgren first played as a tight end and later as a quarterback at the San Francisco Abraham Lincoln High School, where he was named the Prep Athlete of the Year in 1965. He played as a quarterback at the University of Southern California, yet only as a backup quarterback and barely got a chance to play. Holmgren spent time in the training camp of the St Louis Cardinals after being drafted in 1970, and with the New York Jets, but did not play a game in the NFL.

Concerning his career as a coach, Holmgren began at Abraham Lincoln High School in 1971. He was a student there, and a year later he joined the team as an assistant coach. Afterwards, he was a head coach at Oak Grove High School from 1975 to 1980, then became an offensive co-ordinator and quarterback coach for the San Francisco State Gators in 1981, followed by working as a quarterback coach at Brigham Young University between 1982 and 1985, where he won a national championship in 1984; his net worth was certainly rising steadily.

Holmgren’s first job in the NFL was as a coach of the quarterbacks at the San Francisco 49ers, under head coach Bill Walsh, working with Steve Young and Joe Montana. When Bill Walsh was replaced by George Seifert in 1989, Holmgren was promoted as an offensive coordinator, and maintained this position until he left the 49ers in 1991; during his time at the 49ers they won Super Bowl XXIII and Super Bowl XXIV.

Holmgren was hired as a head coach by the Green Bay Packers in 1992, and during this time they placed a record of 75 victories to 37 defeats and participated in two Super Bowls, winning Super Bowl XXXI. The Packers trained by him won at least one play-off game in five successive seasons (1993-1997).

Afterwards, Holmgren’s net worth was boosted in 1999 by an eight-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks, where he was not only the head coach, but also the general manager, but from 2002 he was only a head coach. In 2005, the team reached their first Super Bowl – XL – but were defeated by the Pittsburgh Steelers. This made Holmgren the one of five head coaches, who managed to play with two different franchises in a Super Bowl. (The other four are Bill Parcells, Dan Reeves, Dick Vermeil and Don Shula.

At the end of the 2008 season, Holmgren left the Seahawks and finished his coach career. From 2009 to 2012, Holmgren worked as the President of Cleveland Browns but the team could only make 14 wins for 34 defeats, and so he left the Browns at the end of the 2012 season.

Finally, in the personal life of Mike Holmgren, he has been married to Kathy since 1971, and they have four daughters.
