Bryan Miller Wiki Biography

Born Ryan Dean Miller on the 17th July 1980, in East Lansing, Michigan USA, Ryan is an ice hockey goaltender who plays for the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League (NHL), since 2017. Previously, he played for such franchises as the Buffalo Sabres, St. Louis Blues and Vancouver Canucks. During his career, Ryan has won several awards and recognitions, including the Vezina Trophy for top goaltender in 2010, and was included in the AHL First All-Star Team in 2005.

Have you ever wondered how rich Ryan Miller is, as of mid- 2017? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Miller’s net worth is as high as $14 million, an amount earned through his successful career as an ice hockey goaltender, which has been active since 2002.

From an early age, Ryan started playing hockey, but was firstly a forward. However, once he became frustrated with the bad performance of his team’s goaltender, he asked his coach and dad as well if he could take the goaltender position. His father set the condition that if Ryan scores at least two goals and three assists then he would let him play as goaltender; the next game Ryan achieved the set condition, and led his team to victory. Since then, he has been playing as a goaltender. After he finished high school, he enrolled at Michigan State University where he continued to play ice hockey. During his college years, Ryan set several records, including the National Collegiate Athletic Association record for most shutouts with 26, and was named as Goaltender of the Year of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association in every season.

After a great career in college, Ryan joined Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League, a team that is affiliated to NHL’s Buffalo Sabres. After a successful season with the Americans he was called up by the Sabres and played in 15 games without major success, and after three games in the next season with the Sabres, he was sent back to the Americans. After several seasons on and off with the Sabres, he became the standard goaltender of the NHL franchise in 2006-2007 season, and until the end of 2013-2014 season, was one of the best players in Sabres history. He won several awards, including being named into the NHL First All-Star Team in 2010, the Vezina Trophy in the same year, and was also the recipient of the NHL Foundation Player Award. Thanks to his great plays, Ryan received a lucrative contract extension in 2009, worth $31.25 million over five years. However, in 2014 he was traded to the St. Louis Blues alongside Steve Ott. He stayed in Blues only until the expiration of his contract, and then signed with the Vancouver Canucks. The contract was worth $18 million over three years, which further increased his wealth.

Most recently he joined the Anaheim Ducks and is awaiting the new season – the contract is worth $4 million over two years, adding a considerable amount to his net worth.

Aside from a successful club career, Ryan has also found success with the USA national team, which won the bronze medal at the 2010 Olympic hockey tournament in Turin, Italy. In the same event, he was named MVP of the tournament, Best Goaltender, and was an All-star selection.

Regarding his personal life, Ryan has been married to Noureen DeWulf, an actress, since 2011; the couple has a son, Bodhi Ryan Miller, born in 2015.

Ryan is also recognized for his philanthropic activities; alongside his father he started the Steadfast Foundation through which he supports people suffering from cancer, and their families.
