Adrian Samuel Young Wiki Biography
Adrian Samuel Young was born on the 26th August 1969, in Long Beach, California USA, and is a musician, known as the drummer of the band No Doubt. Since 2016, he is a founding member of a new wave super group Dreamcar. Young has been active in the entertainment industry since 1987.
How much is the net worth of Andrian Young? It has been estimated by authoritative sources that the outright size of his wealth is as much as $20 million, as of the data presented in the middle of 2017. Music is the major source of Young’s fortune and popularity.
To begin with, the boy was raised in Long Beach, by his hippy parents. He began his approach to the world of music through his early influences, represented by the Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley and many other rock and reggae artists. Soon, however, he embraced punk, and especially the powerful sound of the Ramones.
Concerning his professional career, Adrian Young is highly regarded as a studio drummer. He has recorded or performed with such acts as Bow Wow, Scott Weiland, Dilana and Kelis. Moreover, he was invited to perform with Maroon 5, Unwritten Law, The Vandals as well as Bing Ji Ling and many other solo artists and bands. Young is known among fans for performing in the same thong, or indeed nude. He became a member of the band No Doubt in 1989 when the band announced that they were looking for a new drummer. During the audition Young lied in that he had eight years of experience in drum playing, but he wanted to get into the band so badly, and his dream came true, becoming a member alongside the vocalist Gwen Stefani and others. Initially, No Doubt was a ska band and was successful mainly in their home state of California – outside they were known only as the opening act of the British band Bush.
Later, the stylistic change came to a mixture of ska, pop and new wave, and their breakthrough came with their third studio album – “Tragic Kingdom” (1995) – which was a big international success and stayed for weeks on the Billboard charts. The dubbed single “Do not Speak” sold seven million copies, another single “Just A Girl” gained similarly great popularity. Their following albums “Return of Saturn” (2000) and “Rock Steady” (2001) were also successful, but they were unable to match the high international sales figures. At the end of 2003, their first greatest hits album – “The Singles 1992-2003” – came out on the market. In 2012, the band released the studio album “Push and Shove”, which took the 3rd position on Billboard 200. Overall, the band has sold over 25 million albums to date.
Since 2016, Adrian has been a member of the band Dreamcar. In 2017, they released their debut self-titled album, which took 12th position on Billboard Top Alternative Albums.
Finally, in the personal life of the drummer, Adrian introduced his girlfriend Nina Kent to thousands of fans in 1990, but their wedding didn’t take place until the beginning of 2000. They now have a son and a daughter.
