In 2003, she worked for the Hart Family promotion Stampeded Wrestling, and after a year, would start wrestling abroad, in England and Japan as part of Stampede Wrestling and would become the premier Stampede Women’s Pacific Champion. In 2006, she won the SuperGirls Championship as part of the Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling, and also debuted in the all-female promotion Shimmer Women Athletes. Afterwards, she competed as part of Great Canadian Wrestling, and then signed with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) – her net worth was now well established.

Later in the year, the Divas Championship would be created, and Natalya won the qualifier but eventually lost to Michelle McCool.
