Ralphie May Wiki Biography
Ralphie O. May was born on 17th February 1972 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and is best known as a stand-up comedian. His introduction to the world of laughter happened in 1989, when he won a contest to open for Sam Kinison, who turned out to be May`s idol, since which he has appeared in numerous comedy shows, including “The Wayne Brady Show” and “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno”.
So how rich is Ralphie May? According to sources it is estimated that the total of Ralphie May`s net worth is $2.5 million, an amount gained through his successful career in stand up comedy. He has released numerous albums that featured his comedy. His first album was released in 2005 under title “Just Correct”. He has also appeared in films such as “For Da Love of Money” in 2002.
May was born in Chattanooga, but the family moved to Clarksville, Arkansas, however, on Kinison’s suggestion, Ralphie attained his high school diploma from the High School for the Performing Arts in Houston. May then moved to Los Angeles to develop his comedy routine. In 2003, May participated in the first season of “Last Comic Standing”., in which he finished second behind Dat Phan, however, this show still propelled his career sky high, as after the show, he appeared on “The Wayne Brady Show” and “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” among others.
In 2005 May appeared in “The Big Black Comedy Show” as, uniquely of course, the only white comedian; the show featured stars like Mo’Nique, Rodman and Vince Morris. After this success he became well known to the world, resulting in a considerable increase in his net worth.
“Just Correct” was the first comedy album he released, and since then he has used his popularity when recording Comedy Central specials. Until now he has four of them, “Girth of a Nation” recorded in 2006, “Prime Cut”, which was in 2007, “Austin Tatious” in 2008 and “Too Big to Ignore” in 2012. May has also co-operated with Netflix, releasing one comedy special through it, “Unruly” in 2015. Although the main source of May`s net worth is his comedy shows, he has also been featured in films. Consequently, the film “For Da Love of Mone” added a nice amount to his net worth. To date he has appeared in more than a dozen films, and made a total of six discs.
Ralphie May is also a writer and producer, with “Ralphie May: Austin-Tatious”(2008), “Ralphie May: Too Big to Ignore “(2012) and “Imperfectly Yours”(2013) to his credit, and which also contributed to his net worth.
Regarding his personal life and other interests, he has been married to Lahna Turner – who is also a comedian – since 2006, and the couple has a daughter and a son.
