Carlos Tevez Wiki Biography
Carlos Alberto Martínez Tevez was born on the 5th February 1984, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and is a professional soccer player who currently plays for Shanghai Shenhua of the Chinese Super League. Once a renowned goalscorer, he had several turbulent seasons in European soccer which led to his move to China. He previously played for Manchester City, Juventus and Boca Juniors, among other clubs. His career started in 2001.
Have you ever wondered how rich Carlos Tevez is, as of early 2017? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Tevez’ net worth is as high as $28 million, however, it will surely increase in the future as he has signed a contract with the Chinese team that will earn him $41 million in a year.
Tevez grew up in the neighborhood of Ejército de Los Andes, which is known as Fuerte Apache, therefore the known nickname “El Apache”. He was adopted by his mother’s sister Adriana Noemi Martinez and her husband Segundo Raimundo Tevez. During his childhood, Carloz suffered an accident which left the scar on his right side of face, and runs down to his chest – he was scalded with boiling water and spent two months in intensive care. He grew up with the scar, and even when the Boca Juniors’ offer to pay for cosmetic surgery to remove the scar, Carlos declined the offer, stating that the scar made him who he is.
He played for All Boys from 1992 to 1996, and then joined Boca Juniors, for which he made a senior squad debut in 2001, and stayed for another three years, scoring 26 goals in 75 games. In 2005 he was sold to the Brazilian club Corinthians, on a contract worth £6.85 million over five years. The same year he led his team to the Campeonato Brasileiro, and was the first non-Brazilian player to be named as the best player of the league since 1976.
The following season, Tevez refused to play for Corinthians as he believed that he had outgrown the Brazilian championship, and soon enough was transferred to West Ham United of the English Premier League. He played for the Hammers for 2006-2007 season, and then joined Manchester United in a controversial signing involving his agent Kia Joorabchian and his international investment fund Media Sports Investment. Nevertheless, Carlos became a United player in August 2007, and played under Sir Alex Ferguson in 63 games, scoring 19 goals. During his stint at United, Carlos’ net worth increased to a large degree thanks to the contract he had signed with the club and goals bonus he received after every goal scored. He won the Premier League two years in a row with United, and the League Cup and FA Community Shield, and crowned his career in United with the UEFA Champions League win.
Another controversy emerged when Tevez changed the Red Devils’ jersey for cross-town rivals Manchester City. Rumours stated that transfer record was broke at £47 million, however, City’s front office issued a report stating that was a lie. He played for City until 2013, and in 113 matches Carlos scored 58 goals. He won his third Premier League trophy in 2011-2012 season, and the FA Cup in 2010-2011, and FA Community Shield in 2012.
After Manchester, Tevez moved to Italy and signed a contract with the Italian champions Juventus and in two seasons scored 39 goals in 66 games. With the team he won two Serie A trophies, Coppa Italia in 2014-2015 and Supercoppa Italiana in 2013.
In 2015 he returned to Argentina and Boca Juniors for €6.5 million, and led his team to the Apertura title that season. He struck the sports world in late December 2016, when he signed a contract with the Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua for $41 million per year, becoming the highest-paid professional soccer player. Carlos debuted for his new team in a match against Jiangsu Suning in which he scored one goals and assisted for two more goals.
Tevez has also had success with the Argentinian national team; he has played in 76 games, and won a gold medal with the team at the 2004 Olympic Games.
Regarding his personal life, Carlos has been married to Vanesa Mansilla since December 2016; the couple has two children together. He was in a relationship with actress Brenda Asnicar in 2010.
