Born Joshua Mario Gracin on the 18th October 1980, in Westland, Michigan USA, Josh is a country musician, best known to the world for being a finalist on the singing talent show competition “American Idol” (2003), which launched him into the music world. So far he has released four albums, the self-titled one in 2004 achieving gold status.
Have you ever wondered how rich Josh Gracin is, as of early 2017? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Gracin’s net worth is as high as $2 million, an amount earned through his successful career as a musician.
Josh is the son of Mario Gracin and his wife Brenda; he grew up in his hometown with four sisters, and from an early age was interested in music, listening to such acts as Elvis Presley and the Beatles, among other classic rock musicians. That changed when he was 11, as the station he got hooked on changed the genre of music from rock to country, and soon Josh was enjoying songs played by Randy Travis, Joe Diffie, Garth Brooks and George Strait. Slowly he was encouraged to try and sing, which resulted in his performance at the local church in an Easter musical. While in eighth grade, Josh made his debut public appearance at a talent competition, where he sang “Standing Outside the Fire”, originally performed by Garth Brooks. He was easily admired by the public, so encouraged him to develop his talent.
He went to John Glenn High School, and during high school years, Josh sang at numerous festivals, pageants and other singing competitions throughout Michigan, and also performed on stage at the Grand Ole Opry in a national talent show. Following high school matriculation, Josh enrolled at Western Michigan University, but soon decided to join the US Marine Corps. He finished basic training and return home to marry, and was sent to Camp Pendleton to serve as A supply clerk.
After being away from music for couple of years, Josh signed up for the “American Idol” in 2003, and reached the finals, eventually finishing fourth overall. While in the show, Josh performed songs of such musical acts as Edwin McCain, Aerosmith, Garth Brooks and The Bee Gees, among others, which launched his career, as he signed a recording deal with Lyric Street Records. In 2004 his debut self-titled studio album came out, and it immediately struck a chord with the public, reaching No. 2 on the US Country chart, while it spawned the hit single “Nothin’ to Lose”, which topped the singles chart. He continued to record, and four years later Josh released his second album, entitled “We Weren’t Crazy”, which reached No. 4 on the US Country chart, and the single of the same name reached the top 10 on the singles chart. Just a year later, Josh released the new song entitled “Enough”, and has stated that this is his favorite song so far. He was released by the Lyric Street Records, but soon found a new record label, the Average Joe’s Entertainment, and in 2010 released a new song – “Cover Girl” – which was later featured on his third studio album “Redemption”, released in November 2011.However, his personal life went into a downward spiral which culminated with a suicide note and a psychiatric stay. Fortunately, Josh managed to recover and in early 2017 released an EP, entitled “Nothin’ Like Us: Pt. 1”, for Revel Road Records.
Regarding his personal life, Josh has three daughters with his ex-wife Ann Marie, with whom he was married from 2000 to 2014. Josh wrote and recorded a song for his wife, called “Unbelievable (Ann Marie)”, which can be found on his second album. Unfortunately their relationship was stranded due to Josh’s commitments in the music world.
After the stint in psychiatric care, Josh is now healthy, and became engaged to Katie Weir in October 2015.
