Lucas Neff Wiki Biography
Lucas Neff was born on 7 November 1985, in the Andersonville area of Chicago, Illinois USA, to Meade Palidofsky, the founder of Storycatchers Theatre, and Alan Neff, a lawyer and novelist of Irish and Jewish descent. He is an actor, probably best known for his role of James ‘Jimmy’ Chance in the Fox television sitcom “Raising Hope”.
So just how loaded is Lucas Neff? Sources state that Neff has amassed a fortune of over $4 million, as of early 2017, the main source of his net worth has been his acting career which began in 2009.
Neff grew up in Chicago the older of two siblings, where he attended Whitney M. Young Magnet High School, matriculating in 2004. He later enrolled at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he planned to study film, hoping to become a cinematographer one day. However, he was mistakenly assigned to the performing arts department, and thus he went along with the studies in this field, obtaining his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theater in 2008. Jeff then took acting classes at the Chicago’s Steppenwolf Theatre Company, and subsequently joined a local theater company called Collaboraction, making his stage debut in the company’s 2008 production of “Jon”.
In 2009 he was cast with a small role in an episode of the A&E Network television series “The Beast”. A year later he landed the role of Shanker in the drama film “Amigo”, and then played Jay in the drama film “In Memoriam”, paving his way to recognition and to a bigger part. His net worth also began to rise.
Such a part came in 2010, when the young actor was cast in the television sitcom “Raising Hope”, to play the lead role of James “Jimmy” Chance, the title character’s father, which ran for four seasons, until 2014; it became highly popular among worldwide audiences, earning two nominations for Emmy Awards. It offered an ideal showcase for Neff’s acting talent, enabling him to reach a high level of popularity and success, and considerably boosting his net worth.
In the meantime, he remained involved in theater. He wrote several plays, including “The Last Duck” which was performed at the Jackalope Theatre in Chicago in 2011, receiving a Joseph Jefferson Award nomination for Best New Work. In 2013 he appeared in the short film “Delicious Ambiguity”, and in the miniseries “7p/10e” the following year, reinforcing his popularity and improving his wealth.
Neff landed the starring role of David in the 2015 short film “Jim & Helen Forever”. The same year he appeared in the television series “F’d” and “Glitch”, and in two more short films – “We Know You Have a Choice” and “There Are Ghosts”.
He then got the starring role of Andy in the 2016 comedy-drama film “I Love You Both”, and played the lead role of The Kragon in the comedy film “Slash” the same year. He landed another starring part, that of a horror film buff named Joe in the 2016 comedy horror film “Fear, Inc.”. All contributed to his net worth.
Neff’s most recent television appearance is in the recurring role of Jason in the 2017 television series “Downward Dog”, and his most recent film involvement was in the 2017 comedy “Married Young”, which is currently in post-production.
Speaking about his off-camera life, Neff has reportedly been married to actress Caitlin Stasey since 2016.
