Stacey Lauretta Dash Wiki Biography
Stacey Lauretta Dash was born on 20 January 1967, in The Bronx, New York City USA, of Barbadian, Mexican and Afro-American descent. Stacey Dash is an actress in movies and on TV, perhaps best known for her parts in the TV series “The Cosby Show“ in the 1980s, and more recently “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”.
So just how rich is Stacey Dash? Stacy is now relatively comfortable with an estimated worth of $10 million, which wealth she has earned by starring in numerous movies and TV shows during a career in the entertainment industry spanning more than 30 years.
Stacy Dash made her debut in 1982 when she appeared in “Farrell for the People” alongside Ed O‘Neill. Then followed such famous shows as “The Cosby Show“, “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” and “TV 101“. Her movie career started with the Richard Pryor film “Moving” (1988). The 80‘s were actually a really successful period for the young actress, since her other two movies, “Mo’ Money” and “Renaissance Man”, were also big hits. Her real big break, however, was in 1995 when she appeared in Amy Heckerling’s “Clueless” as Dionne Marie Davenport. The comedy, which was based on Jane Austen‘s novel “Emma”, was very well received and grossed $55 million, thus increasing Dash’s net worth considerably. The film also made her and fellow actresses Brittany Murphy and Alicia Silverstone true international stars, probably more so as it was soon made into TV series and Dash reprised her role as Dionne. The series ran from 1996 till 1999, and also featured actress and singer Cher. During that period, Stacy also appeared in films like the crime drama “Cold Around the Heart” (1997) and comedy “Personals” (1999). Naturally all of these appearances enhanced Stacy’s net worth.
Stacey Dash is also known for her appearances in music videos. In 2001 she was a part of the music video for the Carl Thomas song “Emotional”, and in 2004 she appeared alongside Kanye West in the music video for his single “All Falls Down.” At the same time Dash continued to have a successful film career with movies “American Primitive”, “I Could Never Be Your Woman”, “Nora’s Hair Salon II”, “Ghost Image” and “Fashion Victim”. She did not, however, forget television and appeared in the series “Single Ladies” in the role of Valerie Stokes but, unfortunately, she did not return for the second season. She was also a part of the reality TV show “Celebrity Circus”, in which celebrities had to perform circus tricks. Dash was one of the finalists, finishing second after Antonio Sabato, Jr. In addition, she also had guest roles in “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” and “The Game”. All these roles in movies and TV shows helped to increase her overall net worth.
Besides her acting career, Stacey Dash also has her own lingerie line “Letters of Marque” and posed for Playboy in 2006.
In her personal life, Stacy Dash was first married to Brian Lovell(1999-2000), and then James Maby(2005-06). She married Emmanuel Xuereb in 2007, but divorced him in 2010 and asked for restraining order against him, claiming physical abuse. Stacy also has a son fathered by R&B singer Christopher Williams, and a daughter (born 2003). She is very open about her political views and often uses Twitter to criticise certain public figures. Interestingly, she supported Barack Obama in 2008, but in the presidential elections of 2012 she expressed her support for Republican candidate Mitt Romney.
