Have you ever wondered how rich Zack Greinke is, as of mid- 2017? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Greinke’s net worth is as high as $80 million, an amount earned through his successful career as a professional baseball player. Greinke’s annual salary is currently $32 million.

Zack Greinke is a son of Marsha and Donald Greinke, who both worked as teachers. Zack quickly fell in love with baseball and participated in Little League, while also playing golf and tennis as a youngster. Greinke went to Apopka High School, where he played shortstop in his freshman year, but later moved to the relief pitcher role, and finally, as a senior, he became a starting pitcher.

Zack had a vital role in the team’s victory of the third district title in a row and received the Gatorade National Player of the Year award. He impressed the scouts, and the Kansas City Royals selected him in the first round of the 2002 MLB Draft. Greinke turned down the opportunity to accept a scholarship to join Clemson University, and took a $2.5 million sign-on bonus from the Royals. From 2002 to 2004, Greinke spent time in several minor league teams including the Wilmington Blue Rocks, Wichita Wranglers, and Omaha Royals.

In May 2004, Zack made his professional debut against the Oakland Athletics, but his uneasiness was evident, and he failed to perform consistently. Later it was discovered that Greinke suffered from social anxiety disorder and depression, so he visited a sports psychologist and started taking anti-depressants in 2006. Zack returned to the rotation in 2007, but was moved back to the bullpen, before impressing in the 2008 season, which resulted in a fresh four-year contract worth of $38 million in January 2009. Zack exploded that season and earned his first invitation to the All-Star game, while he also won the AL Cy Young Award and was MLB ERA leader.

However, in December 2010, Greinke asked the Royals to trade him as he lost motivation to play for the rebuilding team, so they sent him to the Milwaukee Brewers only a couple of days after his request. Zack actually suffered a fractured rib on a basketball court, and postponed his Brewers debut, but in May 2011, Greinke played his first game and ended the season with a 16–6 record. Despite Zack’s record of never suffering a defeat as a starter at Miller Park, the team played poorly and were far away from the play-off picture. Then after contract talks had broken down, the Brewers traded Greinke to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, where he played for the rest of the 2012 season.

In December that year, Zack signed a six-year deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers, worth $147 million, the largest deal at the time concerning right-handed pitchers. He subsequently injured his left collarbone and had surgery to repair it, but returned to the Dodgers in May 2013. Greinke won the National League Pitcher of the Month in August, and also the Silver Slugger Award, while in 2014, he was invited to his second All-Star game and won his first Gold Glove Award. Zack had an excellent season in 2015 after he earned another call to the All-Star and was the MLB ERA leader and received consecutive Gold Glove Awards.

In December 2015, Greinke penned a six-year deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks worth of $206.5 million and is still playing for them.

Regarding his personal life, Zack Greinke is married to a former Miss Daytona Beach USA and Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader, Emily Kuchar, and has a child with her.
