Born Nickolas Peter Andrew Grimshaw on the 14th August 1984, in Manchester, England he is a radio and television presenter, best known to the world for his engagement on the BBC Radio 1 as a host of various shows, including The Radio 1 Breakfast Show starting in 2012.
Have you ever wondered how rich Nick Grimshaw is, as of mid- 2017? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Grimshaw’s net worth is as high as $2 million, an amount earned through his successful career, which began in 2006.
Nick was raised in Oldham, Greater Manchester and after he finished high school, he enrolled at the University of Liverpool, and between 2002 and 2005 studied Communication and Media, however, he didn’d to obtain a bachelor’s degree as he failed his last year of studies, instead, he received a Diploma of Higher Education. While at the University, Nick was a part of the student’s radio station ICON Radio.
Two years after his education ended, Nick joined BBC Radio 1, firstly as a presenter in the program “Switch”, alongside his friend and DJ Annie Mac. In October following year, Nick started hosting “Weekend Breakfast Show”, which lasted until 2009, when he was switched to ‘The Late Show’, after the departure of Colin Murray. In the next three years, Nick became one of the most popular hosts on the BBC Radio 1, and in 2012 has been promoted to hosting the daily show “The Radio 1 Breakfast Show”, which has only increased his net worth to a large degree. However, ratings of his show began to drop, and in May 2015 he had only 5.5 million listeners per week, tying Sara Cox’s unenviable results in 2003. That wasn’t the end of his decline, as in August 2016, reports stated that he had ‘only 5.4 million listeners per week.
Aside from radio, Nick has also been recognized for his television appearances; starting in 2007 he joined Channel 4 as the host of the daily breakfast show “Freshly Squeezed”, .next to Alexa Chung, who was later replaced by Jameela Jamil. He and Jameela covered numerous events and award shows for Channel 4, but also hosted the radio show “BBC Switch”. His next engagement was as host of the live 6-part series for Channel 4 on Saturdays entitled “New Look Style the Nation” in 2011. The show featured fashion designers that competed for a spot at New Look. The following year he was the co-presenter with Annie Mac of the iTunes Festival, while in 2013 he became the presenter of the BBC Three panel show “Sweat the Small Stuff”. In 2014, he began co-presenting the “The One Show”, and then in 2015 became the regular judge on the “The X Factor”, which further increased his wealth.
Regarding his personal life, Nick came out as gay in 2012, and the same year was named as the 8th most influential person in the 101 LGBT people in Britain by The Independent.
