Jeff Ogden Wiki Biography
Jeffrey Matthew Ogden was born on 22 February 1975, in Snohomish, Washington USA, and is an ex- American Football player, best known for playing as a wide receiver, kick-off and punt returner for the Dallas Cowboys, Miami Dolphins and the Baltimore Ravens in the National Football League (NFL) during a career spanning just four seasons.
So just how loaded is Jeff Ogden now? Sources state that Ogden has acquired a net worth of over $1.5 million, as of early 2017, accumulated largely during his football career from 1998-2002.
Ogden was born with a foot problem, but he overcame what could have been a permanent limp, and becoming an avid youth gymnast. He attended Snohomish High School, joining the school’s football team, switching positions between wide receiver, quarterback, running back to defensive back. He excelled in track too, later spending one year as a pole vaulter at Clackamas Community College. He then enrolled in Eastern Washington University, joining the Eastern Washington Eagles football team. During his senior year, he earned All-American honors as the leading receiver for the team that won the 1997 Big Sky Conference championship, advancing to the semifinals of the Division I-AA playoffs. He led the Eagles with 57 receptions for 1,148 yards and 13 receiving touchdowns, setting school records for both feats.
When the NFL draft came in 1998, Ogden was not selected, but was instead signed as an undrafted free agent by the Dallas Cowboys; his wealth began to grow. Although he had some impressive performances during preseason, he was mostly the team’s fifth receiver during the regular season, playing on special teams most of the time. The season 1999 saw him doing really well though, catching 12 passes for 144 yards in 10 games.
In 2000 Ogden was allocated to the Berlin Thunder of NFL Europe, becoming one of the league’s best wide receivers, and helping them win the World Bowl 2000.
Later that year Ogden was traded to the Miami Dolphins, where he starred against the Green Bay Packers, returning a punt for an 81-yard touchdown, the third-longest punt return in Dolphins history. He also set a 17-yard punt return average, which was a league leading and franchise single-season record. The following year he achieved an 11.8-yard punt return average, being ranked eighth in the NFL, eventually becoming the team’s all-time leader in punt return average with 13.7 and third all-time leader in punt return yards with 700. His popularity was boosted and his net worth greatly improved too, but. Ogden was waived by the team in 2002.
Later that year the Baltimore Ravens signed the player as a free agent to play on special teams. However, he only played in three games, ending his contract with the team at the end of the season. Ogden then retired as a player, but later served as assistant coach in NFL Europe and at Duquesne University, as well as co-head coach/offensive coordinator for the Independent Women’s Football League Pittsburgh Passion. All added to his wealth.
Aside from his involvement in football, Ogden is the owner of a fitness center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He has also been involved in television, appearing in the popular Bravo reality television show “The Millionaire Matchmaker” two times, searching for a perfect woman to date.
When speaking about his private life, Ogden has married three times, firstly to Jill Pearson in 2001. He then married Rhonda Bevan, and in 2008 Christy Laudadio. He has one child. Sources believe he is single at present.
