In 1996 she worked again with Tim Burton on the film “Mars Attacks!”, and then worked on the TV Mini-series “The Shining” (1997), for which she won an Emmy Award. By the end of the decade, Ve Neil had also done make-up for films “Man on the Moon” (1999), with Jim Carrey and Danny DeVito, and “Galaxy Quest” (1999).
Ve Neill started off the new millennium by using her skills on the set of the Academy Award- winning fantasy film “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”, and then “Artificial Intelligence: AI” (2001), directed by Steven Spielberg, with Haley Joel Osment and Jude Law, and in 2002 “Austin Powers in Goldmember” (2002). In 2003 she was selected as the head of the make-up department for the film “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl”, and also worked on the sequels “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” (2006), and “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” (2007).
In 2007 she again worked with Burton and Depp on the horror musical “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street”, and in 2012 was the head of the make-up department for the film “The Hunger Games” starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth, and also worked on the sequels “The Huger Games: Catching Fire” (2013), “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay- Part 1” (2014), and “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2” (2015).
