Justin Chatwin Wiki Biography
Justin Chatwin, born on the 31st of October, 1982, is a Canadian actor who became famous for his roles in the movies “War of the Worlds”, “The Invisible”, and “Dragonball: Evolution”.
So how much is Chatwin’s net worth? As of early 2017, based on authoritative sources it is reported to be $2 million acquired from his years working as an actor in both movie and television which began at the start of the millenium.
Born in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Chatwin is the son of Suzanne, an artist and documentary film maker, and Brian an engineer. He is the oldest of three siblings and grew up in a Catholic home. Chatwin’s love for acting came at a late age. He really didn’t have an interest in acting but fell in love with the craft when one of his friends tagged him along to audition for the movie “Josie and the Pussycats” to play one of the extras. Chatwin got the part and enjoyed the experience. Soon he was appearing in various television shows, while still studying at the University of British Columbia for a degree in commerce. After that debut appearance in 2001, Chatwin soon appeared in other Canadian television shows, including “Just Cause”, “Smallville”, “Glory Days”, and “Taking Lives”, starting his net worth.
In 2005, Chatwin moved to Los Angeles to look for more acting opportunities. During that same year, his breakthrough in acting came when he was cast in the Steven Spielberg movie “War of the Worlds”, in which he played the son of Tom Cruise alongside Dakota Fanning. The movie became his major break in Hollywood that helped his career and net worth.
After “War of the Worlds”, Chatwin went back to television and made appearances in shows like “Weeds”, appearing at the beginning and the end of the show, and also in “Lost”. But during this time, he also appeared in the movie “The Chumscrubber”, and also acted in the stage play “Dark Matters”, contributing to his net worth.
In 2007, Chatwin scored his first lead role when he was cast in the movie “The Invisible”. He also appeared in the independent film entitled “Middle of Nowhere” in 2008. The following year, he was again able to bag a lead role, when he played Goku in the movie “Dragonball Evolution”, along stars Chow Yun-Fat and Jamie Chung. However, despite the powerhouse cast, the movie failed to gain much attention at the box office.
In 2009, Chatwin returned to television, and became part of the series “Shameless”. He became part of the show, and then from 2011 to 2013 appeared in a few more episodes in its fourth and fifth seasons.
Today, Chatwin is still active in acting. Some of his most recent projects have included the show “American Gothic”, BBC’s “Doctor Who” and, “Orphan Black.
In terms of his personal life, Chatwin has dated actress Molly Sims – from 2005 until 2009 – and is also known to have dated actress Addison Timlin and Margarita Levieva, but remains single.

Justin Chatwin Quotes
- I think I went through my phase of feeling sort of invisible when I left my small hometown in Canada and moved to the big city of Vancouver. I kind of had to decide right there in that moment what I was going to do with the rest of my life and make a thousand decisions after finishing high school. Fortunately, I chose acting.
- I was completely open to learning about different aspects of Scientology… and I believe in a lot of it.
- I didn’t go to acting school.
- ‘Shameless’ is going to shake up television. Any drama is good drama. Bring it.
- I really like ‘Shameless’ because it brings up important issues, but we get to talk and laugh and look at something that’s really important that’s a problem, like alcoholism and bad parenting. It’s done in a funny, smart way.
- You don’t need to come from poverty to say growing up is tough. You can have everything in the world going for you and still feel the same loneliness and the same problems that a lot of kids have.
- I just want to do shows because you get to see, over all the seasons, the person grow, and you get to grow with the character. That transformation, for me, is what I love about my job. I get to learn about myself and challenge myself and grow with the character. For me, it’s a whole process of learning and growing.
- I trust you: That’s huge. That’s truth. That’s real love. Everyone uses ‘I love you’ so loosely.
