Born Charlie D’Donte Batch on the 5th December 1974 in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania USA, he is a retired American Football player, who spent 15 seasons in the National Football League (NFL) as a quarterback, playing for the Detroit Lions (1998–2001) and Pittsburgh Steelers (2002–2012)

He repeated the success in 2001, however, he was injured for several games and was replaced by Ty Detmer. His career then began to decline, and he was cut by the Lions for Joey Harrington, and so signed a one-year contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but eventually stayed with the Steelers until the end of his career in 2012. He renewed his contract several times, which only increased his net worth, however, he was used only as a backup and saw limited playing time. Nevertheless, he won two Super Bowl rings with the Steelers, in 2005 and 2008.
