Gail Kim Wiki Biography

Gail Kim was born on 20 February 1977, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, of part-Korean descent, and is a professional wrestler, actress, and model, best known for being part of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), and the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), and all of her efforts have helped put her net worth to where it is today.

How rich is Gail Kim? As of late-2016, sources inform us of a net worth that is at $400,000, mostly earned through professional wrestling. She is the reigning Knockouts Champion, holding the belt for a record-tying sixth reign. She also won the WWE Women’s Championship during her first match, and as she continues her career it is expected that her wealth will increase.

Kim was educated at York Memorial Collegiate Institute and after matriculating, went to the University of Toronto. She then transferred to Ryerson University and graduated with a degree in nutrition.

After graduating, Kim decided to pursue a career in professional wrestling, training at the Ron Hutchinson’s School of Pro Wrestling in Toronto. She made her debut in the Canadian independent circle in 2000, wearing a mask and being called La Feline or “The Queen of the Cats”. She wrestled with Apocalypse Wrestling Federation, and was eventually unmasked. She continued wrestling in the independent circuit for the next two years.

With encouragement from WWF employee Molly Holly, Kim sent her videos to the company and was eventually hired by the renamed World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). She spent months training in house matches and developmental brands before being put on the main roster, and making her debut on television in a seven-woman battle royal which she won, which she held for four weeks before losing it to Molly Holly. She would then feud with Trish Stratus and Lita, before suffering a broken collarbone. She returned in 2004 and would try her hand at the Women’s Championship, but would be defeated by Lita. She was then released in 2004 as a result of cost-cutting.

Gail then tried her hand at wrestling in South Korea and Australia before becoming part of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling in 2005. She aligned herself with the group America’s Most Wanted, becoming the manager of Jeff Jarret. She would finally wrestle the following year, and would become more active in the ring in 2007. She then appeared in a 10-woman gauntlet match and won the TNA Women’s Knockout Championship, which she would hold until January 2008 when she would lose to Awesome Kong. She would continue to compete in various matches over the next few months before her contract expired in August 2008.

Kim re-signed with World Wrestling Entertainment in late 2008, and made her return in March 2009. She would become part of the 25-Diva Miss Wrestlemania battle royal during WrestleMania XXV, and would later fight against Divas Champion Maryse. She was then traded to Raw and got a Divas title shot but was unsuccessful against Mickie James. In 2010, she would fight once again for the Divas Championship but was defeated by Maryse. During the next year, she would participate in fewer matches as she became the on-screen girlfriend of Daniel Bryan, which led to a feud with Nikki and Brie Bella. She then decided to quit the WWE, not being satisfied with her treatmentt.

Gal Kim returned to TNA in 2011, and would become the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champion alongside Madison Rayne. Two years later, she would become the number one contender for the Knockouts Championship, but failed to win, but she would eventually become champion in the Bound for Glory pay-per-view. She would continue competing for TNA in the next few years, becoming the first female inductee into the TNA Hall of Fame. She also won the Knockouts Championship in the same year for the sixth time.

For her personal life, it is known that Kim married celebrity chef Robert Irvine in 2012, and the marriage was documented on an episode of “Restaurant: Impossible”. She also had breast augmentation surgery prior to signing with WWE.
