Kaskade grew up in Chicago suburbs, along with his brother, entrepreneur and film producer Rich Raddon. After this, he moved to Salt Lake City and enrolled in the University of Utah, obtaining a degree in Communications. While at Utah, he also owned a record store called Mechanized Records.
With the emergence of house into the world of dance music in the ’90s, Kaskade found his niche and went on to establish his reputation as a local club DJ. In 2000 he moved to San Francisco, landing a job as an A&R assistant for Om Records, eventually becoming the label’s A&R director. During this time, he also began working on his own music, releasing his first single, “What I Say” in 2001. He then signed a three-album contract with Om Records, releasing his debut album, “It’s You, It’s Me” in 2003, which put him on the map. The second album entitled “In the Moment” followed in 2004, containing the hit singles “Steppin’ Out” and “Everything”. Kaskade’s 2006 album entitled “Love Mysterious” spawned hits such as “Be Still”, “Stars Align” and “Sorry”. His net worth started to rise.
The same year Kaskade signed with Ultra Records, releasing his fifth album, the 2008 “Strobelite Seduction”, his biggest commercial success. At this time he also began his collaboration with Canadian DJ Deadmau5, producing hits such as “Move for Me” and “I Remember”, finding success on the US, Canadian and UK dance charts. He went on to release the albums “Dynasty” in 2010, and then “Fire & Ice” in 2011 and “Atmosphere” in 2013, scoring numerous hits and significantly improving his status in the world of dance music, and his wealth.
