Garret Hedlund was born on 3 September 1984, in Roseau, Minnesota USA, of Swedish, German, and Norwegian ancestry. Garret is an actor, singer, and model, best known for appearing in the film “Troy” as Patroclus. He’s also been cast in several other popular films including “Eragon”, “Tron: Legacy”, and “Pan”. All of his efforts have helped put his net worth to where it is today.
How rich is Garett Hedlund? As of mid-2016, sources inform us of a net worth that is at $6 million, mostly earned through a successful career in acting. He’s worked with many big names in the industry, but also does a lot of Country music projects. As he continues his career, it is expected that his wealth will increase.
Garret was raised in a remote cattle farm before moving to Arizona during the 10th grade. Subsequently during the early stages of his career, he worked as a waiter and saved his money to take acting lessons with coach Jean Fowler. He improved his skills, later modelling for Teen magazine. In 2003, he turned eighteen and moved to Los Angeles to fully pursue an acting career.
He made his major film debut in the film “Troy” alongside Brad Pitt., released in 2004 and which found a lot of success. He then appeared in “Georgia Rule” alongside Lindsay Lohan, released three years later, however, the film failed and didn’t make it to box office expectations. In the same year, he starred with Kevin Bacon in “Death Sentence”, and in 2010, appeared in the “Tron” sequel “Tron: Legacy” alongside Jeff Bridges. His net worth was well established.
In the same year, he became part of “Country Strong” alongside Tim McGraw and Gwyneth Paltrow, for which film he recorded several country songs, and his performances were praised by critics, being compared to Charlie Robison with reviews noting his convincing performance. His song “Give In To Me’ reached the 79th spot of the Billboard Hot 100; other songs became successful too. In 2012, he starred in “On the Road” alongside Kristen Stewart and Amy Adams, an adaptation of the novel of the same name. In 2014, he appeared in the drama “Unbroken” which was directed by Angelina Jolie and there are now reports that he has been cast in the sequel to “Tron: Legacy”.

In the same year he also got a Maui Film Festival Rising Star Award and an Actor of the Year Young Hollywood Award. He’s also been nominated in the Teen Choice Awards, Saturn Awards, and Black Reel Awards.
It is known that Garrett was offered the role of Finnick in “The Hunger Games” sequel “Catching Fire” but he turned it down. He also turned down an offer to become Christian Grey in the adaptation of “Fifty Shades of Grey”.
For his personal life, with actress Kirsten Dunst Garret formed a “Hollywood Couple” for four years, but they have apparently broken up, in mid-2016.

Garrett Hedlund Quotes
- [on being inspired by co-star Hugh Jackman on the set of Pan] Hugh’s amazing. He sets a standard for young males all over the place. He puts 110 percent into everything he does, including fitness. Hugh and I trained with this wonderful trainer named David Kingsbury. We got some gym sessions in together. It’s a lot to keep up with, but it’s wonderful to see someone who works out as hard as he does, it’s inspiring.
- When Terrence Howard and I worked together [on John Singleton’s Four Brothers (2005)], he showed me what was basically the first thing I ever learned on a guitar. It was a little Spanish number. But by the time we started working on On the Road (2012) together, five years later, I’d obviously learned how to play more, so Terrence came to my room with a guitar and played a song, and then I played a song, and then he played a song, and then I played a song – this must have gone back and forth about 12 times. It was nice to have been able to do that.
- A great amount of good is always evened out by a great amount of bad. I find it’s best to acknowledge that weird balance.
- I’ve always had a longstanding dream, ever since I was a kid, where I was running on a big lake of ice and I kept running and kept running, just about to where I was trying to get to, and I fell through the ice, and then I couldn’t find the hole where I fell through to get back out again. It was always like this certain thing where I could only get so far before everything collapses. So I guess it’s a bit of living in fear. But I don’t try to put it that way, because I feel that is going to pull everything you fear toward you. It’s about acknowledging the fear for about five percent, and then ninety-five percent goes into shrugging it all off.
- Everything to me in life is like the second scratch.
- I’ve been told I’m too good looking for certain roles, but that’s okay, it just motivates me to go deeper.
- [on Friday Night Lights (2004)]: I grew up on a farm, and Lucas in the jungles of Alabama, so I think we adapted very well. It’s just a lot that these guys are holding on their shoulders at such a young age. There’s a lot they’re dealing with, the town pressure or support, their home life, all of that causes a sense of internal insecurities. These guys are realizing how crazy it is that they’re going through all this at such a young age.
