Mike Epps Wiki Biography

Michael Elliot Epps, commonly known as Mike Epps, is a famous American actor, rap artist, film producer, stand-up comedian, as well as a voice actor. To the public, Mike Epps is perhaps best known for portraying the character of Day-Day Jones in a sequel to a stoner comedy film “Friday” known as “Next Friday”. The movie was released in 2000 and featured performances from Ice Cube, Don Curry, Justin Pierce, and John Witherspoon. Even though the movie grossed more than $59 million at the box office, almost twice as much as its predecessor, “Next Friday” was largely criticized by both the fans, and the critics.

Shortly afterwards, Mike Epps reprised his role as Day-Day Jones in the third installment of the series called “Friday After Next” with Ice Cube and John Witherspoon. Unfortunately, the third movie did not do as well in the box office, as it grossed only $33 million and did not receive a lot of positive attention from audiences.

In addition to these two films, Mike Epps has made other movie appearances, including “How High” with Method Man and Redman, “Resident Evil: Apocalypse” with Milla Jovovich, “Hancock” starring Will Smith, Jason Bateman and Charlize Theron, and more recently a 2014 psychological thriller called “Repentance” with Forest Whitaker and Anthony Mackie, as well as a musical comedy film directed by Nick Cannon entitled “School Dance”.

Aside from acting, Mike Epps has been working on musical collaborations with such artists as Hurricane Chris and Jim Jones, and even released a song called “Big Girls”, which is featured on his debut comedy album “Funny Bidness: Da Album”.

A famous rapper and actor, how rich is Mike Epps? According to sources, Mike Epps’ net worth is estimated to be $6 million. Due to his earnings in the entertainment industry, Mike Epps was able to purchase such assets as a Rolls Royce Ghost, the value of which is $246 000, and a Range Rover, which costs $125 000.

Mike Epps was born in 1970, in Indiana, US. Mike Epps’ career started when, still a teenager, he began doing stand-up performances at various local comedy clubs. In order to get more recognition, Epps moved to Atlanta, before he actually settled down in Brooklyn, where he was given an opportunity to perform in a television series created by Russell Simmons called “Def Comedy Jam”. It was largely due to his appearances in “Def Comedy Jam” that Mike Epps received invitations to star in various films. Epps’ first movie appearance was in a drama film directed and produced by Vin Diesel entitled “Strays”. Shortly afterwards, Epps landed a role in a sequel to “Friday” called “Next Friday”, where he replaced Chris Tucker. Due to his appearance in this film, Mike Epps received a lot of public recognition and was able to launch a successful acting career.

In addition to many films, Mike Epps went on to star in such television series as “106 & Park”, “The Boondocks” and “Wild’ n’ Out” to name a few.
