Xzibit Wiki Biography

Alvin Nathaniel Joiner was born on 18 September 1974, in Detroit, Michigan USA, and known by his stage name Xzibit or X to the Z, is an actor, rapper, film score composer and a voice actor, perhaps best recognised from co-hosting the MTV show “Pimp My Ride”. He has been active in the entertainment industry since his 1994.

How rich is Xzibit? As of late 2015, Xzibit’s net worth is estimated by sources to be $2.5 million, wealth accumulated mostly from his  career as a rapper, as well as other sources during a career now spanning more than 20 years.

After a somewhat disrupted early childhood, with his father leaving the family home and his mother moving the family to Albuquerque, New Mexico, Xzibit eventually moved to live with his sister in Los Angeles, and began to rap at the early age of 14 under the pseudonym “Exhibit A”, making his first professional appearance on the album “Coast II Coast” released in 1995 by an American hip hop group “The Alkaholiks”; Xzibit appeared on one of their songs entitled “Hit and Run”. The same year, Xzibit toured with “Likwit Crew” and was signed by Lou Records. In 1996, Xzibit released his debut solo album named “At the Speed of Life”, which peaked at #22 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, and #74 at the Billboard 200. In 1998, Xzibit released his second album “40 Dayz & 40 Nightz” that peaked at #58 in the United States. The album, just like its predecessor, was critically acclaimed and received a lot of positive feedback from fans. With the success of his first two albums, Xzibit began to be recognized in the music industry, and, as a result, Xzibit’s net worth and salary increased as well.

Xzibit soon caught the eye of the famous rapper and music producer Dr. Dre, who introduced him to Snoop Dogg, with whom he  then recorded a song, and made an appearance on several songs on Dr. Dre’s six-times platinum album “2001”. During his career, Xzibit has released seven studio albums, the most recent being “Napalm” (2012), which debuted at #150 on the Billboard 200, and sold 3,000 copies in the United States during the first week.

In addition to his rapping career, Xzibit is also known for his on-screen appearances, which have contributed to his net worth. Xzibit starred in several movies including Chris Carter’s “The X-Files: I Want to Believe” alongside David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, “American Violet” and “The Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans” with Nicolas Cage and Eva Mendes, appeared in a reality TV series “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”, and recorded a voice of the main villain named Abbott in the video game “The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena”.

However, it was the MTV show “Pimp My Ride” that brought Xzibit the most commercial recognition and success. “Pimp My Ride” became an instant hit with audiences worldwide in 2003, lasting for six seasons with 73 episodes in total. The show’s immediate popularity resulted in a variety of remakes in Europe, Canada, South America, Oceania and Middle East. As a host of the show, Xzibit was at the center of attention.

Xzibit has continued working with a number of famous people in the industry, including Eminem, Timbaland, Ice Cube, 50 Cent, and The Game among others, so quite possibly his net worth is likely to increase. However, he is believed to still have a debt to settle with the US taxation department first.

In his personal life, Xzibit married Krista Joiner in 2014.
