William Franklin Graham III Wiki Biography
William Franklin Graham III was born on 14 July 1952, in Ashville, North Carolina USA, and is an American evangelist and missionary, best known globally as a strong Christian believer and for his evangelistic events.
So, how rich is Franklin Graham? What’s his net worth? According to sources, Franklin Graham has a net worth estimated to be more than $10 million as of mid- 2017. He has acquired this kind of fortune from his role as an evangelist, preaching in many locations all over the world. He is the CEO and president of Samaritan’s Purse, an international Christian relief organization, and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. He has also authored and sold numerous books throughout his evangelistic life, which began in the early 1980s.
Being the fourth child in a family of five children, Franklin Graham was born to the famous evangelist Billy Graham and Ruth Bell Graham. He was raised in the Appalachian Mountains, near Asheville, North Carolina, but he enrolled at The Stony Brook School located in Long Island, New York, and later Le Tourneau College in Longview, Texas, but from where he was later expelled for supposedly staying out too late! In 1974, he graduated from Montreat College, formerly known as Montreat-Anderson College, with an AS, then proceeded to Appalachian State University, from where he graduated with a BA in 1978.
Franklin Graham was ordained by Grace Community Church in Tempe, Arizona in 1982, which marked the start of his evangelistic life. In 1989, he began conducting activities for his father Billy Graham’s Evangelistic Association, mentored by members of his father’s team of evangelists, before eventually becoming the CEO in 2000, and finally the president in 2002. Every year, he manages to conduct festivals globally, preaching to over three million people in over 120 evangelistic events. His work with Samaritan’s Purse has seen him raise a lot of money, and reportedly earning an average annual salary of over $600, 000 according to data released in late 2014. This added to his net worth significantly, making him one of the richest evangelists in the US.
Franklin Graham has published a number of books from 1983 through to 2012; these include ‘Bob Pierce: This One Thing I Do,’ ‘Miracle in a Shoe Box,’ ‘Rebel With A Cause: Finally Comfortable Being Graham,’ ‘All for Jesus,’ ‘A Wing and a Prayer,’ and ‘The Sower’, among several others.
Throughout his evangelistic life, Franklin Graham has not been spared when it comes to controversies. In the wake of the September 11, 2001 attacks, he came under fire because of his comments on Islam, referring to the religion as “evil and wicked.” In January2015, plans that Duke University had to allow the Muslim prayer call to be amplified each Friday from the top of its campus clock tower were cancelled, with Media outlets such as CBS and Fox News crediting Graham with gathering more than 70,000 “Likes” on Facebook, supporting the action, but to the dismay of many others.
In his personal life, Franklin Graham married Jane Austin Cunningham in 1974, and the couple has four children. They are still based in North Carolina.
