Timothy Donell Brown, born on the 22nd July 1966, is an American entrepreneur, sports analyst and former American Football player, who became famous when playing for the National Football League(NFL) team the Los Angeles Raiders from 1988-2003.
So how much is Brown’s net worth? As of mid 2016, it is reported by authoritative sources to be over $8 million, acquired from his years playing professional American Football, and from his various appearances on sports channels as an analyst.
Born in Dallas, Texas, Brown grew up in a family of six. He attended Woodrow Wilson High School where he discovered his love for American Football. At first his mom didn’t want him to play the sport, so he joined a band during his freshmen year instead. During his sophomore year, he decided to pursue the sport and got into the school team, becoming the wide receiver for his high school until he matriculated. Aside from playing in the band and American Football, Brown was also a track star during his high school years.
Although Brown’s high school team did not perform well as a whole, he was still recognized by various colleges, and was heavily recruited. In 1984, he chose the University of Notre Dame, and became dubbed as Touchdown Timmy. He received many accolades during his years playing in college, including the Heisman Trophy in 1987, the first wide receiver to gain the award; he also received the Walter Camp Award, was named the Sporting news College Football Player of the Year and made the College Football All-America Team twice.
Right after college, Brown was drafted to the NFL and became the #6 pick of the Los Angeles Raiders. His acceptance to the team not only catapulted him to fame, but also tremendously increased his net worth.
Brown played with the Raiders for sixteen years, making waves throughout his career. During his time playing professional American Football, he was selected to the Pro Bowl nine times, became part of the All-Conference seven times, and won the AFC Championship in 2002. Finally, he decided to retire in 2004 after playing one year for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His popularity and achievements also helped in the increase of his wealth.
After retirement, Brown became a sports analyst; he became a co-host on “FSN Pro Football Preview”, became an analyst for ESPN College Football and the host of the weekly sports-talk show on WRDI. In 2013, he also became the General Manager and co-owner of the Texas Revolution, in the indoor football league. His many endeavours also helped him retain his net worth.
In 2015, Brown was inducted into the Pro-Football Hall of Fame. He is also involved in the program “9-1-1 for Kids.”
In terms of his personal life, Brown has been married to Sherice since 1997, and together they have four children. The family resides in Texas.
