Swedish House Mafia Wiki Biography

Swedish House Mafia was a Swedish electronic dance music trio, formed in late 2008 and splitting in 2013, consisting of Axwell, born in 1977, Steve Angello, born in 1982, and Sebastian Ingrosso, born in 1983. The group was known for its progressive house electro, and their collaboration with famous musicians such as Pharrell Williams, Tinie Tempah, Usher, John Martin, Laidback Luke, and Knife Party, among others.

Have you ever wondered how rich Swedish House Mafia is, as of late 2016? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that the trio’s net worth is as high as $20 million, an amount earned through their successful career in music. In addition to releasing two studio albums, they also performed live on numerous occasions which improved their wealth.

Before their formation in late 2008, Swedish House Mafia often played together with DJ Eric Prydz. However, after the group officially adopted the name that fans gave to them, Prydz decided not to join them, stating that he is a “control freak” and that is impossible for him to collaborate with others in the studio, not even with close friends such as Axwell, Angello, and Ingrosso.

Before Swedish House Mafia signed their first professional contract with UMG’s Polydor Records in 2010, they released a couple of singles called “Get Dumb” (2007), produced by Laidback Luke, and “Leave the World Behind” (2009) also produced by Luke, and with vocals by Deborah Cox. In October 2010, Swedish House Mafia released their debut studio album called “Until One”, and it achieved gold status in the UK with over 100,000 copies sold. On charts it reached No.2 on the US Top Heatseekers, No.2 on UK Compilations Albums, No.4 on US Top Electronic Albums, and No.139 on US Billboard 200. The early success of two singles, “One” featuring Pharrell Williams, and “Miami 2 Ibiza” featuring Tinie Tempah, helped them to increase their net worth significantly and gain a lot of popularity as well.

In October 2012, Swedish House Mafia released their second album called “Until Now”, and it was more successful than the previous one, achieving platinum status in both UK and Sweden, and also gold in Australia. The album topped the US Top Electronic Albums and UK Compilation Chart, and also peaked at No.14 on the US Billboard 200. It had four singles: “Save the World”, featuring Swedish singer John Martin, “Antidote”, featuring Adam Baptiste, “Greyhound”, and “Don’t You Worry Child” again featuring John Martin. After the release of the album, the group announced that they would split in order to pursue solo careers.

Swedish House Mafia performed live at numerous influential festivals and events such as the Ultra Music Festival, in Phoenix Park, Dublin, and at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, to benefit Hurricane Sandy relief. The group released their first DVD documentary called “Take One” in November 2010, directed by a pair of Swedish directors Christian Larson and Henrik Hanson. The documentary follows the group’s 253 gigs in 15 countries over the course of two years, and it’s all chronological. The DVD release additionally improved the wealth of the Swedish House Mafia members.

Regarding the personal lives of the group’s respective members, the most intimate details about Axwell’s and Ingrosso’s lives are relatively unknown, while it is known that Steve Angello is married to Swedish model and TV personality Isabel Adrian, and has two daughters – they currently live in Los Angeles, California.
