  • In Charleston, South Carolina, USA, Frank Shepard Fairey was born on February 15, 1970. 
  • He is a street artist, illustrator, graphic designer, and activist who first rose to attention for his “Andre the Giant Has a Posse” sticker campaign. 
  • He has an approximate net worth of $15 million, which he has earned from his designs for stickers and posters. 
  • Fairey is Strait’s uncle, a physician, and Charlotte is a realtor. 
  • He went to Wando High School, which was beginning to take an interest in street art at the time. 
  • He then attended California’s Idyllwild Arts Academy and eventually the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), where Fairey created “Andre the Giant Has a Posse” sticker campaign, in which he drew the titled text along with wrestler and actor Andre the Giant. 
  • He later changed the “OBEY” post, which was supposed to make people doubt their environment. 
  • The “OBEY” movement gained popularity and was shown in the US on different campuses. 
  • Shepard then graduated in 1992 with a degree in Fine Arts and started a printing company called Alternative Graphics that sold silkscreens for t-shirts and sticker art. 
  • He was also a co-founder of the BLK/MRKT Inc. design studio, which from 1997-2003 listed Pepsi, Hasbro, and Netscape among their customers. 
  • He and his wife founded the Studio Number One design agency in 2003, which was responsible for Black-Eyed Pea’s Monkey Business album artwork and the “Walk the Line” movie poster. 
  • His net worth gradually rose. 
  • A letter from Obama himself was received by Fairey to thank him for his support and contribution to the campaign. 
  • He also developed a similar Obama illustration that became a cover for the 2008 Person of the Year by Time magazine. 
  • He has also been active in a variety of political and humanitarian organizations, including the RUSH Philanthropic Arts Foundation, the David Lynch Consciousness-Based Education and World Peace Foundation (DLF), and, to name a few, the LA Fund for Education.
