Shad Gregory Moss Wiki Biography
Shad Gregory Moss, commonly known by the stage name of Bow Wow or Lil Bow Wow, is a famous American rap artist, record producer, actor, as well as a television show host. Bow Wow rose to prominence in 2000, after the release of his debut album called “Beware of Dog”, which was co-produced by Jermaine Dupri and Michael Mauldin. “Beware of Dog” produced 4 singles, namely “Bounce with Me” with Xscape, “Puppy Love” featuring Jagged Edge, “Bow Wow” with Snoop Dogg and “Ghetto Girls”. Upon its release, the album managed to sell more than 101,000 copies during its debut week, and a year later received a double-Platinum certification from the RIAA. To date, Bow Wow has released six albums, with the 7th album called “Underrated” scheduled to come out in 2015.
Aside from rapping, Bow Wow has excelled as a talented actor, making his first film appearance in Kevin Bray’s action comedy film called “All About the Benjamins”, which featured a cast of Ice Cube, Eva Mendes, Mike Epps, and Carmen Chaplin. That same year, in 2002, Bow Wow played a lead role in John Schultz’s film entitled “Like Mike”, which included cameo appearances from such NBA stars as Shaquille O’Neal, Vince Carter, Allen Iverson, and Steve Nash among many others. Currently, Bow Wow is working on an upcoming movie called “Fast & Furious 7”.
A well-known rapper and actor, how rich is Bow Wow? According to sources, in 2012 Bow Wow received a salary of $500,000 for his role in “Allegiance”, while in 2013 he added a sum of $1 million for hosting the “106 & Park” video show set up. In regards to his wealth, Bow Wow’s net worth is estimated to be $3 million in 2017, which has diminished over time due to unpaid child support contributions and taxes.
Bow Wow was born in 1987 in Columbus, Ohio. Bow Wow’s music career started when he was 11 years old, when he met the record producer and rapper Jermaine Dupri, who significantly contributed to Bow Wow’s fame. Following the success of his debut album, Bow Wow came out with “Doggy Bag” the following year, which was released to largely positive feedback from the listeners. “Doggy Bag” spawned two singles, and managed to sell over 320,000 copies during its debut week. The album later received a Platinum certification, since it sold more than 1 million copies in the United States alone. Bow Wow followed his rapping career with “Unleashed”, “Wanted” and “The Price of Fame”. Bow Wow’s contributions to music have been acknowledged with BET Awards, Billboard Music Awards and Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards.
Aside from rapping, Bow Wow took up a career in acting. After his success with “Like Mike”, Bow Wow went on to appear in lead roles in the “Johnson Family Vacation” starring Cedric the Entertainer, Steve Harvey and Solange Knowles, and “Roll Bounce”, where he co-starred alongside Chi McBride, Mike Epps, and Meagan Good.
