Ron Ben-Israel was born in 1957 in Israel, into a family of Jewish ancestry. He is best known as a pastry chef, and the owner of ‘’Ron Ben-Israel Cakes’’ in New York City.

Ron grew up in Tel Aviv, and reportedly loved baking and cooking from an early age. He went on to attend Thelma Yellin High School of the Arts, and specialized in the field of dancing. During the mid ‘70s he served as a soldier in the Israeli Defense Forces; he later admitted that being in army helped him gain discipline. Due to arthritis, Israel had to retire from dancing, but was then able to concentrate on establishing a career as a baker and chef in New York. He continued appearing in several other television shows; in 2015, Israel served as a judge and master pastry chef on ‘’Cake Wars’’, a reality cooking television series.
