Have you ever wondered how rich Robert Sean Leonard is, as of late 2016? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Leonard’s net worth is as high as $15 million, an amount earned through his successful acting career. In addition to being a popular TV and theatre actor, Leonard has also appeared in several movies which have improved his wealth.
Robert Sean Leonard is a son of Robert Leonard, a teacher at Collier High School, and Joyce Patricia, a nurse. He grew up in New Jersey and went to Ridgewood High School, and later studied at Fordham University, then at the Columbia University School of General Studies.
Leonard started his acting career in a TV movie called “My Two Loves” in 1986, and then appeared in Marshall Brickman’s “The Manhattan Project” (1986) starring John Lithgow. By the end of the ‘80s, Leonard had played in “Bluffing It” (1987), starred in “My Best Friend Is a Vampire” (1987), and in Peter Weir’s Oscar-winning “Dead Poets Society” (1989) with Robin Williams and Ethan Hawke – the latter movie grossed over $235 million at the box office worldwide, and certainly helped Leonard to increase his net worth.
In the early ‘90s Leonard had parts in James Ivory’s Oscar-nominated drama called “Mr. & Mrs. Bridge” (1990) starring Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, and continued with “Swing Kids” (1993) with Christian Bale and Frank Whaley, and Kenneth Branagh’s “Much Ado About Nothing” (1993) starring Branagh, Keanu Reeves, and Emma Thompson. Robert also appeared in Martin Scorsese’s Oscar-winning “The Age of Innocence” (1993) with Daniel Day-Lewis, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Winona Ryder.
In the mid-90’s, Leonard played in “Safe Passage” (1994) starring Susan Sarandon and Sam Shepard, starred in “Killer: A Journal of Murder” (1995) with James Woods, “The Boys Next Door” (1996), and “I Love You, I Love You Not” (1996) starring Jeanne Moreau, Claire Danes, and Jude Law. He ended the decade with appearances in Christopher Reeve’s “In the Gloaming” (1997) with Glenn Close, Bridget Fonda, and Whoopi Goldberg, “The Last Days of Disco” (1998), and “Ground Control” (1998) starring Kiefer Sutherland. His net worth was rising.

However, his most notable role has been as Dr. James Wilson in 174 episodes of “House” from 2004 to 2012 – the success of the series significantly improved his wealth. He wasn’t involved in other projects during the filming of “House”, but since the series ended, Leonard has appeared in several shows, such as “The Blacklist” (2013), “Falling Skies” (2013-2014), and “The Good Wife” (2014). Robert Lawrence Leonard Quotes
- When I was 16 I was cast by [Stephen] Sondheim for a six-week workshop of Into the Woods. One day Sondheim came in with [the just-written song] ‘Giants in the Sky.’ He pointed to me and said, ‘This is for Bobby.’ I pretty much could have died.
- I didn’t want to be the lead guy. That’s too much work. But I thought that it might be fun to be the lead guy’s friend. I’d have days off and still get a paycheck every week. Hugh Laurie, who plays House, is remarkable. I lean in the door and say, ‘Hey, what do you think about egg salad [for lunch]?’ Then I have two days in a row off. It’s a great gig. [on his experience acting on House M.D. (2004)]
