Robert Edward Turner III was born on 19 November 1938 in Cincinnati, Ohio United States, and is a media prioprietor, film and television producer, screenwriter, as well as a philanthropist. To the public, Ted Turner is perhaps best known for establishing the cable news satellite channel “CNN”, which is currently owned by Turner’s “Turner Broadcasting System”.

When he left university, Turner went to work for his father’s company, and when his father suicided in 1963, Turner inherited “Turner Advertising Company”, which he succeeded in making a worldwide success. One of Turner’s first major business ventures was the establishment of WTBS channel, which was followed by CNN.
