Born as Richard Allen Craven on the 24th May 1966 in Newburgh, Maine USA, Ricky is an ESPN broadcaster and analyst, and former professional race car driver, best known for winning the 2003 Carolina Dodge Dealers 400. Craven recorded three national series and K&N Pro Series wins, while he also was the 1991 Busch North Series Champion. His career started in 1981 and ended in 2006.

He finished 16th and 13th at the Daytona 500 in 1995 and 1996 but then moved to Hendrick Motorsports in 1997. Craven made it to 3rd spot in 1997, while he ended 14th the following season. From 1999 to 2004, Ricky competed for SBIII Motorsports, Midwest Transit Racing, and PPI Motorsports, but recorded only one top-20 finish at the Daytona 500. In the meantime, he did win the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series at the 2001 Old Dominion 500 in Ridgeway, Virginia, and then at the 2003 Carolina Dodge Dealers’ 400 in Darlington, South Carolina.

Craven moved to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2004, and participated in 26 races over two years, recording a victory at the 2005 Kroger 200 in Ridgeway, Virginia, which was his last in his pro career. Ricky’s last race was at the 2005 Ford 200 in Homestead, Florida. He subsequently tried to secure a part-time deal, but failed to find a suitable team to join, so he decided to retire and work as a NASCAR analyst for ESPN and Yahoo! Sports, which he has continued with in recent years.
