Richard Vershaun Seymour was born on 6 October 1979, in Gadsden, South Carolina USA, and is a retired professional American Football player, best known to play in the National Football League (NFL) as a defensive end from 2001 to 2012 for the New England Patriots, and so appeared in seven Pro Bowls. All of his efforts have helped put his net worth to where it is today.

He then started games in 2002, leading to his first Pro Bowl appearance. He was injured again in 2006, but was named to his fifth straight Pro Bowl in 2007, although he didn’t play again – he had surgery on his knees and played in Super Bowl XLII which they lost against the New York Giants. In 2009, he was traded to the Oakland Raiders but refused to report to the Raiders as he was unhappy with the trade, but later reported to the team and started all games of the season. He was offered a two year $30 million contract extension in 2011 making him the highest paid defensive player in the NFL, and then earned another selection in the Pro Bowl. In 2013, his contract was voided due to him not fulfilling the required playing time in his contract, so he then retired after he wasn’t any contract that he thought he was wanted wanted.
