Ray Jackson Wiki Biography

Ray Jackson was born on 13 November 1973, in San Antonio, Texas USA, and is a retired professional basketball player, best known for becoming part of the University of Michigan Wolverines Fab Five alongside Juwan Howard, Jalen Rose, Jimmy King, and Chris Webber. All of his endeavors have helped put his net worth to where it is today.

How rich is Ray Jackson? As of mid-2016, sources estimate a net worth that is at $300,000, partly earned through a career in basketball, during which he also played with the Continental Basketball Association (CBA). Aside from that, he has found success in business, and as he continues his endeavors, it is expected that his wealth will increase.

Ray started becoming well known as part of the Fab Five and their championship runs as freshmen and sophomores. The Fab Five is considered by many as one of the greatest class of college basketball to ever be recruited. Together they reached the 1992 and 1993 NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Championship. Despite the issues that eventually affected the team regarding money, Ray was never a part of the University of Michigan basketball scandal. Webber eventually left after sophomore year while Howard and Rose decided to leave after their junior years. During his senior year with the Wolves, Jackson had his best year and averaged around 16 points per game.

After college, Jackson never got the chance to fully pursue a career in professional basketball; he was the only member of the Fab Five who wasn’t drafted into the NBA. He joined the New York Knicks before the 1995 to 1996 season, but was cut during the pre-season.

The following year, he joined the Detroit Pistons but also got cut and never got a chance to play. He then decided to join the CBA and was drafted by the Grand Rapids Hoops. During his first year with the hoops, he would win the Rookie of the Year Award, and then tried his hand at playing basketball overseas with various teams. Eventually, his career would go on and he would move to other things such as business. He established a moving company, and also helped found the non-profit organization called Rising Stars, which aims to help children with a variety of things including education and sports.

Aside from these, Ray was featured in an ESPN documentary called “Fab Five” which details how their team changed college basketball.

For his personal life, there is no public information on what are essentially private relationships, if any. It is known that Ray once did an interview with Yahoo Sports and he stated that it took him a long time to get over the fact that he was the only member of the Fab Five who didn’t make it to the NBA. However, he also said that he is now over it and is happy with what he’s doing in his life. Other members of the Fab Five were also interviewed and they all stated that Jackson was a very important factor in keeping them together during their championship runs.
