Otis Milles Jr. was born on the 30th October 1940 in Texarkana, Texas USA. He is a singer and songwriter, and under the name Otis Williams, he is perhaps best known as a founding member of the Motown group, The Temptations. He has been an active member of the music scene since 1959.

The peak of his career is probably represented by his induction into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall Of Fame in 1989.
Otis` father and mother, never married, and actually separated soon after Otis was born. His mother, Hazel soon married and moved to Detroit, leaving Otis to be raised by both of his grandmothers. Otis moved to Detroit when he was ten years old. During his teen years and prior to his breakout and commercial success, Otis had featured in a number of bands, such as “El Domingos”, “Distants” and “Siberians”. In 1959, Otis and his group the “Distants” released a hit “Come On”, however, their future releases were not as successful as their first single. Otis then quit the “Distants” in 1960, and alongside Melvin Franklin, Elbridge Bryant, Paul Williams and Eddie Kendricks formed a group called “Elgins”, which later signed a deal with Motown records under the name “The Temptations”. His net worth had begun to rise, if slowly.
The group was founded in 1961 and its first album was released in 1964, entitled “Meet The Temptations”, and it featured their first hit single “The Way You Do The Things You Do”.Otis`s net worth began to increase with every group release. Overall, the group has released 44 studio albums and has sold tens of millions of copies, becoming one of the greatest groups in music history. Some of their most successful albums include “All Directions” (1974), “Phoenix Rising” (1998), “A Song For You” (1975), “Sky`s The Limit” (1971), “Materpiece” (1973) among many others, which spawned numerous hits such as “My Girl”, “Papa Was A Rolling Stone”, “Just My Imagination” that increased their popularity.
The group has received a number of awards, some of them include the Grammy award for the Best R&B Group, Best R&B Instrumental Performance and a Lifetime Achievement Grammy award in 2013, clearly making it the main source of Otis` net worth.
Through their history, The Temptations have changed their formation frequently, some of the most notable members have included David Ruffin, Richard Street, Ron Tyson, Dennis Edwards and many others. Although he is the only founding member of the group left, Otis has never become a lead singer, instead focusing on background vocals, and acting as the group`s leader.
Overall Otis’ career has been rather successful, as he earned numerous plaudits while being a member of the group, and the peak of his career was in 1989 when he was inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall OF Fame.
When it comes to his personal and love life, Otis has had quite an interesting one.
