Nathan Jonas Jordison Wiki Biography

Nathan Jonas Jordison was born on the 26th April 1975, in Des Moines, Iowa USA, and is a musician, songwriter and producer who is probably most famous as the former drummer as well as one of the songwriters of the heavy metal group Slipknot.

Have you ever wondered how much wealth this multitalented drummer and musician has accumulated so far? How rich Joey Jordison is? According to sources, it is estimated that the total amount of Jordison’s net worth, as of mid 2016, is $5 million, acquired throughout his music career which has been active since 1994.

Joey Jordison’s interest in music dates back to his early age when he spent his spare time listening to Kiss, The Who and Led Zeppelin on the radio, instead of in front of the TV. At the age of five, Joey found his grandfather’s set of drums and it was a love at the first sight. Later, he started playing a guitar, but returned to playing drums at the age of eight, when he got his first set of drums as a present from his parents. He started his first band while still in elementary school. While attending Waukee High School, Joey was a member of several local bands including Anal Blast, The Rejects and his own Modifidious. The first steps towards more serious music career Joey made as a support drummer for the Atomic Opera and Heads on the Wall.

After leaving high school, he started working at the Musicland music store, but later transferred to the Sinclair Garage. These engagements, apart from providing the basis for his overall net worth, provided some prosperous contacts for Joey.

In 1995, Joey Jordison got an offer from Shawn Crahan and Paul Gray to join their project – The Pale Ones, which quickly grew into one of the best heavy metal bands in the world – Slipknot! The band’s original lineup, apart from those three already mentioned, included Chris Fehn, Sid Wilson, Mick Thompson and Corey Taylor. In the band’s internal “hierarchy”, Joey Jordison was assigned #3. Also it was Joey who designed the group’s trademark “tribal S” as the band’s logo. They released their debut album in 1996 named “Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat.”. Although it was a commercial failure and poorly accepted by the fans, it broke the ice for future band’s as well as Joey Jordison’s success.

Apart from their vivid live performances, The Slipknot members were always known for their masks – an idea came after one of their first practice sessions when Shawn Crahan appeared wearing a clown mask. For their stage performances, Joey Jordison used a few variations of his Japanese Kabuki style mask – face full of scars with stitched up mouth, with dirty skin, dark engravings and blood stains. This quite disturbing visual identity certainly helped Joey Jordison to be worshiped among the Slipknot fans.

Prior to leaving the band in December 2013, Joey Jordison played on the band’s four studio albums – “Slipknot” (1999), “Iowa” (2001), “Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)” (2004) and “All Hope is Gone” (2008), and even produced their live album. Joey Jordison is currently working on his own project, called Scar The Martyr. Judging by his skill and passion, it should help him to increase his overall net worth even more.

Joey Jordison is one of the fastest drummers in the world. In his music career now spanning over 20 years, apart from those already mentioned, Joey had also performed with some of the greatest names in (heavy metal) music today, such as Metallica, KoRn, System Of A Down, Ministry and Rob Zombie.

Apart from his musical career, Joey Jordison has also made some steps towards acting – in 2002 he appeared in sci-fi action movie “Rollerball”, but nothing more to date.

In his personal life, Joey is apparently still single, but is known to have had relationships with several ladies, including Abby Franklin (2004), Amanda Victoria (model), Lexa Vonn, Illyria Jade, Kim Dylla and Talena Atfield.
