Mikhail Dmitrievitch Prokhorov was born on the 3^rd May 1965 in Moscow, Russia then the Russian Soviet Socialist Republic of the Soviet Union. He is the famous Russian businessman and politician. He rose to fame as a founder of Norlisk-Nickel Company; acquiring most of his net worth, and later expanding his kingdom to sports, investing in the Russian basketball team CSKA and NBA basketball team Brooklyn Nets.

In 2008, he sold the 25% of his shares of the Norlisk-Nickel to the United Company Rusal for a total of $7 billion and the 14% of the Rusal.

In 2009 he expanded his industrial kingdom to sports, increasing his net worth as well with the future investments, as he made an offer to buy the NBA team New Jersey Nets and in 2010 he became a majority owner of the team with a 80% of the stake, sharing the rest with the real estate developer Bruce Ratner. He soon changed the name of the team to Brooklyn Nets and moved them to a new arena. The complete worth of the deal was reported to be $700 million.
