So, have you ever wondered how rich Mike Gordon is? It has been estimated by authoritative sources that Mike counts his net worth at the impressive amount of $50 million, as of mid- 2016. This sum of money has been accumulated mostly through his successful career in the entertainment industry as a musician, but also through his career as a film director. Another source of his wealth is coming from selling his book “Mike’s Corner” (1997), a collection of short stories.
Mike Gordon was born to Robert Gordon, who was the founder as well as the former President and CEO of Store 24, a store chain, and Marjorie Minkin, who was a painter. He attended both the Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Boston and Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School, after which he enrolled at the University of Vermont, from which he graduated with a BA degree in Arts, although he majored in Electrical Engineering.
Mike’s professional career began in the early 1980s when he was still at University, as he started the rock band in 1983, together with his friends Trey Anastasio, Jeff Holdsworth, and Jon Fishman. The began to build their careers, and three years later released their debut album, under name “Phish”, same as their band’s name.
So far, the band has released 14 studio albums, some of which have achieved gold and platinum status, which only increased Mike’s net worth. Their first major label album was “Junta”, released in 1989 through Elektra records, and which achieved platinum status. The band continued successfully until the 2000s, releasing such albums as “Lawn Boy” (1990), “A Picture Of Nectar” (1992), “Hoist” (1994), “Billy Breathes” (1996), and “Farhouse” (2000), all of which achieved gold status, increasing Mike’s net worth to a large degree.
In 2004 the band went on hiatus, but they returned in 2009 and released two more albums, “Joy” (2009), and “Fuego” (2014); Mike’s net worth was still rising.
Apart from his engagement in the band, Mike has worked on his own, releasing four studio albums, “Inside In” (2003), “The Green Sparrow” (2008), “Moss” (2010), and “Overstep” (2014), which also increased the overall size of his net worth.
During his long and successful career, Mike has collaborated with numerous other artists too, including Leo Kottke, with whom he released two albums “Clone”, and “Sixty Six Steps”, which sales also contributed to his net worth.
When it comes to speak about his personal life, Mike Gordon has been married to Susan Schick since 2008, and their current residence is in Burlington, Vermont. He is frequently active on his official Twitter account.
