Michael Winslow Wiki Biography

Michael Leslie Winslow was born on the 5th September 1958, in Spokane, Washington State, USA, and is an actor and comedian, who is probably best recognized for starring in the role of Sgt. Larvelle Jones in the Police Academy film series, and as Radar Technician in “Spaceballs” (1987). He is also recognized as a beatboxer – the Man of 10,000 Sound Effects. His career has been active since 1980.

So, have you ever wondered how rich Michael Winslow is, as of early 2017? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that the total size of Michael’s net worth is $1.5 million, an amount which has been accumulated through his successful involvement in the entertainment industry, not only as an actor and comedian, but also as a voice artist and beatboxer.

Michael Winslow was born to Verdie and Robert Winslow, who served in the US Air Force, so he spent his childhood growing up at Fairchild Air Force Base. He went to the Lisa Maile School of Acting, Modeling and Imaging, after which he enrolled at the University of Colorado in Denver, spending a year there studying Architecture, before he made the decision to quit education in order to pursue his career as a stand up comedian, as he performed in Hollywood.

In short time, he made appearance in “The Gong Show”, after which he began pursuing a comedy and acting career full-time, so his career began in 1980, when he made his debut film appearance in “Nightside”, which was followed by the role of Welfare Comedian later that year in the film “Cheech And Chong’s Next Movie”. In the following years, he also starred in such TV and film titles as “Space Stars” (1981) in the role of Plutem, “Nice Dreams” (1981) playing Superman Nut, and in “Tag: The Assassination Game” (1982) as Gowdy, all of which contributed to his net worth.

Two years later, he won the role of Larvell Jones in the first part of the Police Academy film series –“Police Academy” (1984) starring alongside Kim Cattrall, Steve Guttenberg, and G.W. Bailey in the lead roles. Since then, his career has only gone upwards, as well as his net worth, and by the 1990s, he had reprised his role in the five sequels of the film – “Police Academy 2: Their First Assignment” (1985), “Police Academy 3: Back In Training” (1986), “Police Academy 4: Citizens On Patrol” (1987), “Police Academy 5: Assignment: Miami Beach” (1988), and the last one “Police Academy 6: City Under Siege” (1989).

The new decade didn’t change too much for him, as he earned a number of roles in such TV and film titles as in the role of Dumas in the Extralarge TV film series, “Police Academy: Mission To Moscow” (1994), and in the TV series “Police Academy”, which lasted from 1997 until 1998. In 1999, he landed roles in “Lycanthrope” as Lee Davis and in “Michael Winslow Live” playing the title role, all of which added a considerable amount to his net worth.

In the 2000s, his career was marked by roles in a number of titles, including “Lenny The Wonder Dog” (2005), “The Great Buck Howard” (2008), and “Robodoc” (2009). Most recently, he has starred in the TV film “Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!” (2015), “Renaissance Man” (2016), and in an episode of the TV series “Steve’s Garden”, which is currently in post-production. His net worth is certainly rising.

Additional to his career as an actor, Michael is also known as a voice artist, who has a great ability to make a number of realistic sounds using his mouth and voice. Thus, he has provided his voice to a number of video games, TV series, and films, such as “Gremlins” (1984), “Family Guy” (2002), “GTA: San Andreas” (2004), among others, all of which increased his net worth.

Speaking about his personal life, Michael Winslow has been married to Sharon Larrieu since 2003. Previously, he was married to Belinda Church (1985-1993), with whom he has three children, and Angela Baytops from 1997 to 2001. His current residence is in Florida. In free time, he is very active as a spokesperson for the organization Cancer Foundations.

Michael Winslow Quotes

  • I do get a lot of requests for specific things.
  • Keeping busy: This is a problem that you’re glad to have.
  • The music stuff has been very difficult. It’s got to be right, and even then, it better be on key.
  • I know that you’re better off making your own products, not just waiting for someone to hand you something. If you are handed something, it’s a blessing and a curse. Look at hip hop artists, they produced everything themselves. Even people like Robert De Niro are getting into production. Again, it’s art vs. marketing. Not everyone can take the risk. You have to break a few eggs to make a good omelet.
