Have you ever wondered how rich Meg Cabot is? According to sources it has been estimated that Meg Cabot’s overall net worth is $80 million as of late 2017, acquired by becoming a successful and acknowledged author, whose books have sold more than 25 million copies. Being the author of several no.1 New York Times bestsellers, Cabot’s net worth has significantly increased. Since she is still actively writing, her net worth continues to grow.

From her early childhood, Meg loved reading and was especially interested in comic books and sci-fi. Her love for books from an early age saw Cabot start writing her own while in high school, and participating in activities such as theater, art club and choir. After graduating from Indiana University with a BA in fine arts, Meg moved to New York City with a desire to pursue a career as an illustrator. However, she started working as an assistant manager of the freshman dormitory at New York University in the early nineties, and during her ten-year tenure in this position, Cabot took up writing, and published her first work in 1998, an historical romance called “Where Roses Grow Wild”, under the name of Patricia Cabot.

Soon, more novels of the same genre followed, however, it was not an easy road as she was rejected several times before succeeding, despite being a published author. Her true debut came with the release of the “Princess Diaries” series which turned out to be a hit published worldwide, and even interested Disney to eventually make two hit movies of the same name. The first book out of ten in the series was published in 2000 and managed to stay on the New York times Children’s Series Best Sellers Lists for several months. Her other very popular publications include “The Mediator Series” (2000), “1-800-Where-R-You?” series (2001), “All-American Girl” series (2002) and “Avalon High” series (2005) as well as several books narrated through text messages and e-mails, such as “Boy Next Door/Boy Meets Girl/Every Boy’s Got One”.

Apart from writing books for adults and teenagers, Meg also writes fiction books for children such as “Allie Finkle’s Rules for Girls”. In 2015, Cabot published her first adult book in the “Princess Diaries” series called “Royal Wedding”. “Royal Wedding Disaster”, the second, and “Royal Crush” the third book from the Middle School Princess Series, are to be published in late 2017. Throughout her career, Meg has written under the pen names of Patricia Cabot, Meggin Cabot and Jenny Caroll, but regardless, her net worth has benefited considerably.

In her personal life, Meg married financial writer and poet Benjamin D. Egnatz in April 1993 on April Fool’s Day, due to her husband’s belief that only fools get married in the first place.

She resides with her husband in their residences in New York, and Key West, Florida.
