However, due to an injury, she was forced to abandon her basketball career. After attending Middlesex University for a while, she transferred to North London University in London, UK.

Alongside her college friend, Natalie Stewart, in 1997 Marsha founded the R&B duo named Floetry. Marsha – “The Songstress”, and Natalie – “The Floacist” first began performing poetry on stage. After moving to the states in 2000, they began writing lyrics for several big names in the music industry such as Larry “Jazz” Anthony, Glen Lewis, Dru Hill, Bilal, Jill Scott as well as for “The King of Pop” – the legendary Michael Jackson. These engagements provided the basis for Marsha Ambrosius’ net worth.

It is certain that these accomplishments dramatically helped Marsha Ambrosius to increase her popularity as well as her wealth.

Prior to parting ways in 2005, the duo released another album – “Flo’Ology” in the same year, which peaked at No. 2 of the Top R&B chart and included the globally popular song “Supastar”. Marsha’s solo career began in 2006 when she signed a record deal with Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment record label, and in 2007 she released the “Neo Soul is Dead” mixtape. After signing with J Records, in 2011 her debut solo album “Late Nights & Early Mornings” hit the charts, scoring a real commercial success, peaking at No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot R&B Chart as well as at No. 2 on US Billboard Hot 200.
