Mark Thomas Tremonti was born on the 18th April 1974 in Detroit, Michigan USA, and is a musician, singer and songwriter widely known as the founder and leading guitarist of the Creed and Alter Bridge rock bands, and the founder and frontman of his own, eponymous band, Tremonti.
Have you ever wondered how much wealth this rocker has accumulated so far? How rich Mark Tremonti is? According to sources, it is estimated that the total amount of Mark Tremonti’s net worth, as of mid-2016, is $25 million, acquired through his career in the music industry which now spans almost 30 years.
Mark Tremonti was born into a family of American and Italian descent, the youngest of three sons of Michael and Mary Tremonti. His interest in guitar playing, and music in general, dates back to the age of 11 when he bought his first guitar, a Les Paul imitation TARA for $25. Although he started guitar lessons, after just one class he abandoned it and started practicing alone. Mark attended Lake Highland Preparatory School, where he met his future bandmate Scott Stapp. Mark Tremonti continued his education, and graduated from Clemson University, majoring in finance.
In 1993, Mark Tremonti, alongside Scott Stapp, founded his first band, initially named Naked Toddler but later rebranded as Creed. The band’s debut album, “My Own Prison” was released in 1997, and was a huge success with over six million sold copies. Four singles reached No.1 on Billboard’s Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart – My Own Prison, What’s This Life For, One and Thorn. These accomplishments, besides providing the basis for his later significant net worth, helped Mark Tremonti to establish himself as a songwriter as much as a musician.
In 1999, Creed released their second studio album – “Human Clay”, which immediately became a huge success and was certified diamond and platinum by the RIAA, 11 times in total. The hit single “Higher” peaked at the top of the rock radio charts for 17 weeks! For the song “With Arms Wide Open”, written with Scott Stapp, Creed was honored with the Grammy Award for the best rock song in 2001. These achievements have positively impacted Mark Tremonti’s popularity as well as his wealth.
In 2004, Mark Tremonti started another project, another band – Alter Bridge, with Myles Kennedy, Brian Marshall and Scott Phillips, releasing their debut album “One Day Remains” in 2004. Although the album was poorly welcomed and negatively reviewed, it later became Alter Bridge’s only album certified gold. Three years later, in 2007, the band’s second album “Blackbird” hit the charts. For his solos on this one, Mark Tremonti’s performance was heralded as the greatest guitar solo of all time by the Guitarist magazine in 2011. These ventures have definitely helped Mark Tremonti to increase his wealth.
In 2008, Mark Tremonti and his brother, formed FRET12, a production company, record label and an online musician’s community which later released “Mark Tremonti: The Sound & the Story”, a guitar instructional and documentary DVD. In 2010, Mark announced a solo album, but the idea evolved and in 2011 he formed his own, eponymous band, Tremonti, including Eric Friedman, Garrett Whitlock and Wolfgang Van Halen. Their first album “All I Was” hit the charts in 2012, and the band has released two more studio albums, “Cauterize” (2015) and “Dust” (2016.) All these engagements have brought millions to Mark Tremonti and have helped him over the years to establish his name among the other rock legends.
When it comes to his personal life, Mark Tremonti has been married since 2002 to Victoria Rodriguez, and they have two children. With his family, Mark Tremonti currently resides in Orlando, Florida.
