Marin Elizabeth Hinkle Wiki Biography
Marin Elizabeth Hinkle was born on 23 March 1966, in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, to mother Margaret, a judge of the Massachusetts Superior Court, and father Rodney Hinkle, a retired school teacher and college dean. She is an American actress, probably best known for her role as Judy Brooks in the ABC television drama “Once and Again” and as Judith Harper in the CBS sitcom “Two and a Half Men”.
So just how rich is Marin Hinkle? Sources state that Hinkle’s net worth reaches $3 million, as of mid-2016, earned during her acting career which began in 1994.
Hinkle’s family moved to Boston, Massachusetts several months after she was born, where she attended Newton South High School. After obtaining her BA from Brown University in Rhode Island, she went on to earn her MA from New York University’s Graduate Acting Program at the Tisch School of the Arts in New York City.
During her teenage years, Hinkle decided to pursue a career as a ballerina. However, she suffered an ankle injury which prevented her continuing in ballet, and she eventually developed an interest in acting, starting her acting career by performing in New York theatre. She made her film debut with the 1994 comedy/drama “Angie”, playing a minor part as Young Joanne. The following year she made her television debut, appearing in the hit soap opera “Another World”, and went on to land several minor parts in the ‘90s films such as “Breathing Room”, “I’m Not Rappaport” and “Show & Tell”, as well as guest appearances in televisions series such as “Spin City” and “Law & Order”.
In 1999 she was cast in the starring role as Judy Brooks in the television series “Once and Again”, remaining in the show until its cancellation in 2002. The series greatly contributed to her rising career, and to her net worth as well.
Hinkle went on to take several small film parts during the early 2000s, including in “Frequency”, “Sam the Man”, “Final”, The Next Big Thing”, “I Am Sam” and “Dark Blue”, and to land another guest stint in the series “Law & Order” as well as in the series “Without a Trace”. All added to her wealth.
Her most memorable role, however, came in 2003, when she was cast as Judith Harper in the hit CBS sitcom “Two and a Half Men”, co-starring Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer, playing Cryer’s neurotic and annoying ex-wife. She remained a cast regular during the entire show, which lasted until early 2015, though her appearances in the last three seasons were significantly reduced. The role reinforced the actress’ recognition in the acting world, and considerably improved her net worth.
Concurrently, Hinkle tackled a mix of film and television projects, appearing in films such as “The Ex”, “Turn the River”, “Rails and Ties”, “Quarantine” and “Weather Girl”. As for the television, she made guest appearances in a number of series, including “ER” and “House”, as well as two additional stints in “Law & Order”. She had a recurring role as Courtney McCallister in the series “Brothers & Sisters” from 2007 to 2011″, as Rose Silverman in “The Sarah Silverman Program” from 2007 to 2008, and as Karen in “Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23” in 2012. In 2013 Hinkle was cast as Samantha Bowers in the NBC soap opera “Deception” and then as Isabelle Barnes in the political drama “Madam Secretary” the following year.
Marin’s most recent film appearances were in the 2013 “Butterflies of Bill Baker” and “Geography Club”, and in the 2014 “Dakota’s Summer”. After her appearance in the 2016 series “Castle”, she had a recurring role in the sitcom “Speechless”, released in mid-2016 and currently airing on ABC.
When it comes to her personal life, Hinkle has been married to Randall Sommer since 1998, and the couple has one child.
