Lindsey Stirling Wiki Biography
Lindsey Stirling was born on 21st September 1986, in Santa Ana, California USA. She is a performance artist, a violinist, a singer, a composer and a dancer. She is called a “’hip-hop violinist” and she is probably best known as the girl who dances while playing the violin. She became known after participating in the television show “America’s Got Talent”, in 2010, but she has since built her fame through her YouTube channel, on which she has been posting her performances since 2011.
So just how rich is Lindsey Stirling? Sources estimate Lindsey’s net worth is over $2 million, her wealth having been made from her comparatively short but varied career in the entertainment industry. According to Forbes, she has made an estimated $6 million from YouTube revenues and adds money to her net worth from album sales, royalties and touring.
Lindsey Stirling has been studying violin since she was six, taking half lessons only, because her parents couldn’t afford to pay for more. During high school, Lindsey performed in a rock band called Stomp on Melvin and was also a member of the Charley Jenkins Band. She was Arizona’s Junior Miss and won the Spirit Award in the America’s Junior Miss competition. Lindsey graduated from Mesquite High School.
In 2010, Lindsey went to “America’s Got Talent”, but her performance didn’t convince the jury and she finished as a quarter-finalist. After the show, she made a video for YouTube, together with the cinematographer Devin Graham. This first video, made for the play “Spontaneous Me” in 2011, was a success and Lindsey started selling her songs on iTunes. In 2012, another of her videos, called “Crystalize”, became the eighth most watched video on YouTube. Lindsey continued making videos and promoting them online and, in 2013, she won a YouTube Music Award for her song “Radioactive”. By 2015, more than six million people had subscribed to her channel and her music has had more than 1 billion views.
In 2013, Lindsey released her first, self-titled album on her own, which sold over 350,000 copies in the US and has gone platinum in Germany and gold in Poland and Switzerland. A year later, she released a second album, “Shatter Me” and started her first tour, “Shatter Me World Tour (The Music Box World Tour)”. Her concert from London was also broadcast on public television (“Lindsey Stirling: Live from London”), a show which was aired also in the US a few months later, and spawned her first video album released in 2015. In the same year, Forbes included Lindsey in the list “30 Under 30 In Music”.
The artist is also a motivational speaker who encourages teenagers to follow her dreams, by telling them her own story. Lindsey Stirling has had a partnership with Yamaha since 2014, playing now a Yamaha SV-250 Silent Violin Pro. Lindsey has become more and more popular by promoting herself with the help of social media: she has over 450,000 followers on Twitter, 724,000 fans on Instagram, and her Facebook page is ‘liked’ by 3.4 million people.
Lindsey Stirling plans publishing her autobiography shortly, called “The Only Pirate at the Party”.
In her personal life, Lindsey Stirling’s only known romantic association has been with Devin Graham, a film-maker.

Lindsey Stirling Quotes
- A lot of these reality-TV shows people go on, they come off and nothing happens. You never hear from them again. Fifteen seconds of fame is not the name of the game. No matter how big you break, or how many people you break in front of, you still have to slowly build a fan base to have anything loyal and lasting from people.
- I never liked feeling like the world needed to have labels on everything, whether it’s people or categories of music. I think everyone should be what they want to be, and you shouldn’t have to look a certain way in order to fit this mold or that mold.
