Lexi Thompson Wiki Biography

Alexis Noel Thompson was born on 10 February 1995, in Coral Springs, Florida, USA, and is a professional golfer, known from being a part of the LPGA Tour, having won several tournaments over the course of her career. She’s been active in the sport professionally since 2010, and all of her efforts have helped put her net worth to where it is today.

How rich is Lexi Thompson? As of early-2018, sources estimate a net worth that is at $5 million, mostly earned through a successful career in professional golf. She was the youngest winner of a Ladies European Tour event, and as she continues her career, it is expected that her wealth will also continue to increase.

Lexi was born into a family who were very involved in professional golf. She was home schooled, and would spend a lot of her free time improving her golf skills. In 2007, at the age of 12 she became the youngest player to qualify for the US Women’s Open. However, she failed to make the cut during the year. She would later become the second youngest winner in the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) after winning the Aldila Junior Classic. She would follow it up with becoming the youngest winner in Junior PGA Championship History, at the Westfield Junior PGA Championship. In 2008, she qualified once again for the US Women’s Open after winning the US Girl’s Junior, but failed to make the cut once more. She made the cut for the first time the following year, and would play in the Women’s Australian Open in 2010. She went on to represent the US in the Curtis Cup, and would go undefeated.

Thompson’s success would prompt her to move to professional status, and her net worth would soon start to climb significantly. At the start of her professional career, she had to rely on sponsors’ exemptions to gain entry into tournaments. She entered the US Women’s Open and finished tied for 10th at the tournament, and ended the year in 74th place in the Women’s World Golf Rankings. The following year, she began playing in one-day tournaments, and would get her first professional win at a one-round Fuzion Tour event. Her first LPGA tournament that year would be the Avnet LPGA Classic, for which she had a sponsor’s exemption. She continued to play regularly throughout the year, and eventually won her first LPGA tournament at the Navistar LPGA Classic, becoming the youngest winner on the tour, breaking Marlene Hagge’s record. In 2012, she had two more wins on the tour, at the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia and the Lorena Ochoa Invitational, so her net worth was rising steadily.

In 2014, Lexi joined the 2014 Kraft Nabisco Championship and would win her first major championship, making her the second youngest women’s major winner at the time. She continued to make waves, earning wins at the Meijer LPGA Classic and the LPGA KEB Hana Bank Championship; her net worth increased significantly thanks to her wins and consistent play. In 2017, she got her eighth tour win at the Kingsmill Championship and followed it up with another win at the Indy Women in Tech Championship.

For her personal life, nothing is known about Thompson’s romantic relationships, if any – there aren’t even any rumours. Her two brothers, Nicholas and Curtis Thompson are also professional golfers.
