Lang Lang, born on the 14th of June 1982, in Shenyang, Liaoning, China, is a Chinese pianist who became popular for making waves in the concert scene at such a young age.

Lang is the son of Lang Guoren who is also a musician. His love for music started at the early age of three after watching an episode of the cartoon “Tom and Jerry”, in which the Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 by Franz Liszt was played. Lang was fascinated and began piano lessons with Professor Zhu Ya-Fen. At the age of five he was already entering competitions.

Some of his early performances included playing at Carnegie Hall, playing with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Berlin Philharmonic. His concerts and tours around the world tremendously elevated his career and increased his net worth.

Soon, Lang was recording albums that also became successful. These include the recording of his performance at the Tanglewood Music Center, Lang Lang Live at the Proms, Lang Lang Live at the Carnegie Hall, Lang Lang: Dragon Songs, and Chopin: The Piano Concertos.
