Korina Sanchez was born on the 5th October 1964, in Hong Kong, and is a journalist and television personality, one of the icons of ABS-CBN. Karina is also a columnist for the newspapers The Philippine Star, Tagalog and Philipino Star Ngayon. Sanchez is a multiple winner of Asian TV Awards as well as PMPC Star Awards. She has been active in the entertainment industry since 1986.

When Failon was elected in 2001 as a member of the Philippine House of Representatives, she presented the program called “Korina sa Umaga”, three years later changing the title to “Tambalang Failon at Sanchez” after the return of Failon as co-host., winning many awards and honours.

In 2001, Sanchez became the first female anchor of the main program aired on ABS-CBN, “TV Patrol”. In 2004, she was appointed to anchor “Chief Correspondence” on ABS-CBN, and has continued anchoring the aforementioned program up to this day.
