Kelsey Plum Wiki Biography

Kelsey Christine Plum was born on 24 August 1994, in Poway, California USA, and is a professional basketball player, best known as a part of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) playing for the Las Vegas Aces. She’s been active in the sport professionally since 2017 and all of her efforts have helped put her net worth to where it is today.

How rich is Kelsey Plum? As of early-2018, sources estimate a net worth that is at $1 million, mostly earned through a successful career in professional basketball. She was the first overall pick during the 2017 WNBA Draft, and as she continues her career, it is expected that her wealth will also continue to increase.

Kelsey grew up in a family that was very involved in sports – her father played football and baseball while her mother played volleyball. She originally followed her mother playing a lot of volleyball, but when she attended La Jolla Country Day School, she focused more on basketball, and she also played soccer during this time. Thanks to her contributions, her school would win four section titles and a state championship in basketball. At the end of her high school run, she was named Ms. Basketball by CalHiSports, which is given to the best female high school basketball player in California. She was subsequently offered numerous places at college, and decided to accept the offer from Washington State University.

Plum was named to the US Basketball U19 team, and would help the team win all their games at the World Championships in Lithuania. She also played for the Pan American Team after recovering from injury. The team went on to win all their preliminary games, defeated Cuba in the semifinal, but lost 81-73 to Canada for the gold medal.

Kelsey immediately went to Seattle and took summer classes, leading her to become team captain. During her first year, she set six Washington freshman records including points scored, and single game score, and earned freshman of the year honors for the Pac-12 conference. During her second year, she was put on the watch list of having potential to win player of the year. The following year, she won several honors and helped the Huskies get to the NCAA Tournament, reaching their first Final Four appearance but losing against Syracuse Orange. During her final year at Washington, she became the leading scorer of both genders in Pac-12 history, and the 12th NCAA Division I women’s player to reach 3,000 career points. She helped the Huskies gain a 29-6 record while averaging 31.7 points with 53 percent shooting average. She was given a Pac-12 player of the year award and a Nancy Lieberman award. She graduated in 2017 with a degree in anthropology. She was then selected as the first pick of the 2017 WNBA draft by the San Antonio Stars. While she started by coming off the bench, she began to perform well as the season progressed.

For her personal life, nothing much is known about Kelsey’s romantic relationships, if any.
