Kelly Hunt Wiki Biography

Kelly Ann Hu is an actress, voice artist and former fashion model, born on the 13th February 1968, in Honolulu, Hawaii USA, who has had many notable television and film roles, including in “Sunset Beach”(1997-1999), “Nash Bridges”(1996-2001), “The Scorpion King”(2002), “White Frog”(2012) among others. She is possibly best known for her recurring roles in the television series “The Vampire Diaries”, “Arrow” and Warehouse 13”.

Have you ever wondered how rich Kelly Hu is? According to sources it has been estimated that Kelly Hu’s overall net worth is $10 million, acquired by appearing in numerous television series and film roles since the late ‘80s. Prior to her acting career, Kelly was a successful fashion model during the ‘80s, which also added to her net worth. Since she is still very active in the entertainment industry, her net worth continues to grow.

Hu was brought up in Hawaii, and is of Native Hawaiian, Chinese American and English American descent. She went to Ma’ema’e Elementary School and Kamehameha Schools in Honolulu. From childhood, Kelly developed an interest in singing and dancing, as well as martial arts. Following the steps of her cousin who was a successful model in Japan, she decided to start modeling, and won the title of Miss Hawaii Teen USA and later competed in the Miss Teen USA pageant in 1985, becoming the first Asian American to win the title. Hu went on to model in Japan and Italy where she achieved great success. Once again she participated in a beauty contest, and in 1993 won the title of Miss Hawaii USA, and entered the top ten at the Miss USA pageant.

Kelly began her acting career in 1987 after moving to Los Angeles, and started off with a guest starring role in the sitcom “Growing Pains”. New roles soon followed, including those in “Night Court”, “21 Jump Street” and “Melrose Place”, and her first film role was in “Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan”. Her more prominent roles came in the mid-‘90s, when she was a regular cast member in “Sunset Beach”, “Nash Bridges” and “Martial Law”. All these appearances contributed to her rising net worth.

During her acting career, Hu has now appeared on over 30 TV series and more than 50 films, including “The Scorpion King”, “Cradle 2 the Grave”, “X2” among many others. When it comes to her most recent activity, Kelly has been a cast member of the CW TV series “The Vampire Diaries” and CBS TV series “Hawaii Five-0”. In 2013 she joined the cast of the TV series “Warehouse 13”.

Kelly Hu’s personal life is not very well known to the public; she has been in relationships with Ahmad Ali Moussaui and Mitch Allan, but has never been married. Privately, she is an avid poker fan and often takes part in competitions. Hu is also known as an activist, and supports the Center for Asian Americans United for Self-Empowerment. Other than this, she has participated in national fund-raising programs to support children’s hospitals in the US and Japan.
