Kel Mitchell Wiki Biography
Born Kel Johari Mitchell on the 25th August 1978, in Chicago, Illinois USA, he is an award-winning actor, stand-up comedian and musician, possibly best known to the world as Kel Kimble in the popular TV series “Kenan & Kel”, and also as Double G in the TV series “Game Shakers”, among many other differing enterprises.
Have you ever wondered how rich Kel Mitchell is, as of late 2017? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Mitchell’s net worth is as high as $3.75 million, an amount earned through his successful career in the world of entertainment, active since the mid- ‘90s.
Growing up in Chicago neighborhood of Austin, he experienced the satisfaction of the audience when he was only 12, while appearing in such theatrical productions as “Kasimu & the Coconut Palm”, as a part of the ETA Creative Arts Foundation. Two years later he featured in the play “Eden”, which caught the attention of a talent agent, and in no time, Kel was on board a plane flying to Florida to appear on Nickelodeon for the first time. His first appearance was in the TV series “All That” (1994-1999), and two years later he was cast in the spin-off entitled “Kenan & Kel” (1996-2000), with Kenan Thomspon. Kel’s career progressed quite impressively, which resulted in new notable roles, such as the role of Ed in the comedy film “Good Burger” in 1997, then the Invisible Boy in the comedy fantasy film “Mystery Men” (1999), starring Ben Stiller, Janeane Garofalo and William H. Macy, while the following year, he gave voice to T-Bone in the animated TV series “Clifford the Big Red Dog” through 2003, which only increased his net worth. In 2007 he had a minor role in the award-winning historical drama “Honeydripper”, with Danny Glover, LisaGay Hamilton and Yaya DaCosta in the lead roles, but then starred in the comedy film “See Dick Run” (2009). Three years later he wrote and directed the comedy film “She Is Not My Sister”, in which he also starred, next to Lana Giacose and Tristin Mays, however, the film failed both critically and commercially. The same year he portrayed Dutch Gordy in the TV series “Motorcity” (2012-2013), and also gave voice to Jay Jay from the animated series “Wild Grinders”, an engagement that lasted until 2015, which considerably increased his net worth. In 2015 he started portraying Double G in the TV comedy series “Game Shakers”, again on Nickelodeon, and the show is scheduled for a return in 2018, so also contributed steadily to his net worth.
Kel is also an accomplished musician; so far he has released several singles, including “Watch Me Do My Thing”, his debut released in 1996, and “Who Are Those Mystery Men” (1999), among others, the sales of which have added somewhat to his net worth.
Regarding his personal life, Kel has two children from his previous marriage to Tyisha Hampton, which lasted from 1999 until 2005. He has been married to rapper Asia Lee since 2012.
Kel is a well-known philanthropist; he supports numerous organizations centered on improving lives of children, while he himself holds motivational speeches for children at numerous conventions and events. He and his wife Asia received “Carson Black Chambers of Commerce for their extensive work for the city of Compton and their inhabitants.
